It's getting closer to the release date for Sony's Alpha. Let hope it's good.

If it is really 10Mpixels, I will need to upgrade my CF cards and my harddisk storage again :sweat:
And hope them come out with some compressed but lossless RAW form.
I hope they do give a huge memory buffer for the camera and faster writing speed, so there won't be much delay from shot-to-shot time.

R1 is 1.7x crop factor, not sure if they use D200 sensor or which :dunno: .
There are no confirmation yet, but since the rumour released was close to release date, so I think there is a high chance that Sony really use a 10Mpixels sensor :think:

Lastest information where I got from Sony Service Centre PJ technician(ex- KM technician)
(I was sent my cam to service on Monday and just got it back today):-
Sony 1st dSLR is an upgrade version of KM Dynax 5D.
Model- Sony Alpha 100D or D100
10.3MP APS- C CCD(same as N D200).
3 frames/ second.
Compatible with current KM's lenses.
Come with kit lens as KM 5D kit lens- 18- 70mm DT lens suitable only for dSLR with APS- C CCD but not compatible to film dSLR.
Camera body slightly smaller/ compact than KM 5D(like C 350D).
Price around RM3000 or more or less with kit lens.

PS:- Please don't blame me if the above information is not accurate after Sony 1st dSLR was launched.
And FYI, actually the technicians of Sony are now having their technical training about this cam in Malaysia.

That's around a SG1500. That's pretty cheap for a 10MP camera.:dunno:

For what I think, with the price of memory cache failing, I think they may make it similar to current 5D like max 3 RAW consecutively. But to seperate it from the "7Di" they probably will cripple the "Alpha 100?" a bit, or the "7Di" must have great improvement like 5-8 Frame/s etc or even higher Mpixels count (or full frame?) :bigeyes: for people or pro to upgrade to :think:

If what you say is true this will one killer camera. 10MP ccd and Olympus like anti dust system. I think they covered everything.

Zeiss, great! But I don't think I can afford though, with Zeiss for Nikon price like this :sweat:
