Sony G lens???
 :bsmilie:

Sony G lens and Carl Zeiss Optic????

wow, wonder if the price is below S$2k like what is rumored. Then REALLY competitive, as the D200 using similar 10MP sony sensor but without anit-dust and anti-shake selling for $2.6k...

hope it will sell for like the R1 price. $1.6k. which is possible as the A100 don't have lens so they can save on lens :)

probably street price will drop to $1.5k to $1.7k including kit lens? more than the 5D less than the 7D

this is an entry level camera, so you can't compare it to the d200 even if the sensor is the same. things like build quality and materials, metering and AF speed, buffer size, FPS, weather sealing etc

AF speed ......... very important!!:)

mmm... but I read the nikon forums and they say the D200 is not much faster than the entry D70.

3fps is pretty fast what, with the buffer at 6 RAW files, unlimited Jpegs...

The only significant advantage is "built quality" which is hard to quantify. I mean you don't see the entry level DSLRs (D70) breaking down that often either. So is "built quality" worth the anti-shake and anti-dust?
