just come clubsnap, sure can find cheap photographer...
Sad to hear from someone before that his friend had "advised" him to come into clubsnap to find low cost photographer as there are plenty of them...
IMHO, I think should not allow the faithopejoy Jolene Ng girl and her cronies to open a low balling thread, stir a lot of emotions, then she posing her lame sick reasons and closing her own thread before other members can reply to that thread.
But I trust the good judgement of the admin and mods here if the thread need to stay closed. Anyway...
Photo hobby is popular, I am sure they can find there own friends to do it if they are really poor and low income people (though I know many poor and low income people still have the dignity and mutual respect for people of other profession), but instead they choose to hunt for a Goon Doo here. And that is shameful.
Maybe that day will drop by to see which OCS and which photographer shooting. Ok joke, where got time.
I seriously don't get the drift here.
Are you peeps discussing about BUDGET as in Really BUDGET photog. or PROFESSIONAL photogs.? The discussion sounds very much like a professional photographer has been asked to shoot at extreme low rate.
This is real world. I agree with the girl - Supply and Demand. There is nothing wrong to start cheap and work one's way up. You peeps make it sound that CS is a place for all the almightys ... and only people who charge $100/hr can only be in here.. Then I think CS better start charging a membership fee. That, you will be able to stop cheapos here. C'mon, give people a break.![]()
we can re-read this thread again, Photographer for birthday party - Page 2
what this customers expecting is a norm from her POV, how do you people going to tell her that for the rate she is paying is what she entitle to?
do you people really think if you charge very cheap and can get away with less responsibility?
there are plenty of such demands out there, if the supply is not enough to fulfil the need, customers will be very willing to pay more if there still want the photography services.
we need to understand this, in the law of supply and demand, if supply is too plentiful, it will be come a buyer market.
since every Tom Dick Harry having a DLSR just jump on the bandwagon, going around offering cheap cheap free free services, so please don't push the blame to the customers.
you forget about there is a "middle man" in between for this case,It is a two way communication. Simple T&CS should have been said and agreed upon. Both parties are at fault. Client assumed, so did the photog.
you forget about there is a "middle man" in between for this case,
the "middle man" selling $50 per hour to customers, paying about $35 per hour to the photographer,
so the photographer supply what is worth for $35/hr
anything went wrong, customers and "middle man" will just put the blame on the photographer.
every now and then will be many new hobbyists try to fund their camera gear by moonlighting, they don't really know how to work out their cost and how to charge, so either copy and paste from other photographers' website or take what the customers offered to them.
we will have to bring out this topic from time to time, since most of them won't last, and new comers will emerge.
for those who are more serious about being full time, they can join the professional associations, and seek help from the pros.
Regardless, the onus is on you to negotiate the terms and conditions. Assumptions do not get you anywhere. As a consumer, if you purchased a holiday package, don't you want to know what you are getting for your money?
The problem with many of us these days, we tend to assume too much to actually get our hands down to bottom of things.
That is the problem. To these "cameramen", any extra dollar or exposure for "portfolio" are + benefits without realizing that they are actually being exploited. Clients on the other side will be gladly to be able to save any pennies.
