AFAIK, some newer types of the TV can support the HD.

Ya, most new TVs are HDTV compatible, I guess ... But u'll still need a set-top box, something like the starhub cable set-top box, to convert the signal.

True HDTVs have built-in converters, I think ... Still quite confused by this new technology , though in other countries, this has been around as early as 1998 ...

wa singapore so back dated.. those display at shopping mall all use hdtv set top box so the picture alway look great but normally bring back and see not so good, hope by next year got the built in type.

most of the TVs can support HD, but are generally few hundred more expensive than those that has no built in converter. and yes, it is widely used in europe.
this is another chance for starhub to increase their fee ... haiz :angry:
