Hi,

Yr photos are great!! I'm a beginner in photography and I'd like to have some tips from you.
I got 450D, kit lens, 50mm f1.8 and I'm not sure if I can achieve the colors and IQ as in yr photo.

What's the lens you are using for those shots? Are you using Nikon or Canon camera? did you use photoshop?

Thanks :)

Thanks Peter.

IQ is usually due to the lens and although the 50mm f1.8 is one of the cheapest canon lens around, I feel it produces pretty decent images. So to get something similar to what I have here is not out of the question.

Of course better lens like say the 16-35L, 35L and 85L etc (which I use most often) can get you better IQ, it is always the moment and the composition that is more important, so work on that.

I currently use a Canon 5D MarkII and 5D to capture most of my images. And yes I use photoshop (a must, especially since I capture all my shots in RAW)

Hope that helps and may your journey in photography bring you great joy and satisfaction. ;)

Thanks for the reply and tips. I'm thinking of going into wedding photography. My own wedding just passed and I know how important every shot is to the couple. And earn some income to upgrade my equipment. You must have invested alot on those L lens.
Yr images have inspired me to go into that direction.

Btw, why are you having 35L lens since you already have 16-35L? Is that prime lens sharper than the zoom lens?

Any advice for me on the shooting angle or composition or when is the best moment to capture during the wedding?

Thanks

Hohoho... hehe nice shots bro. Why i use the exact same equipment but dun have this kinda power shots leh? :bsmilie:

Thanks again, I am flattered.
But I am not too sure how to advice on the shooting angle or composition, as I feel it is part instinct and part practice. Also, composition is very subjective, meaning what I see, feel and like, may not be what you perceive. Thus my only advice would be to look at more images and see how the different photogs compose their shots, shoot more on your own, practice on daily objects or people and you will get there one day. I myself is still doing this daily. :)

The 35L is F1.4, and can shoot under relatively low light and throw unwanted background off focus.

Pay Michael $2k and you get to stay with him for a month to learn how he thinks/compose all his shots. I am still saving up for that.
