Am posting this to caution fellow CSers.

Should you come across anyone selling a Nikon SB28DX speedlight, do be very careful.

Check if it carries the no.2074943, and has no warranty card. It is considered stolen.

"Borrowed" in April 2006 on the pretext of using it with his Panasonic DC to shoot WCG teams under Ragefaction.Net, he has since disappeared, along with changing/blocking his MSN, email and handphone numbers (9853-9864 / 9665-5464).

Repeated emails and reminders have netted no returns, despite a mutual acquaintence having seen him commuting to town area with his buddies. He has been claiming "no time", "too busy", and quoting school as an excuse from avoiding the return of the item, up to end of June 2006.

He is aged 22-years, stays in the Woodlands area, is known as Fizban on RageFaction and is supposedly a student in Ngee Ann Polytechnic (and a member of their photo club). He has also joined several outings including a Pinkie model shoot and an AG Outing. Lastly, he does not have an unbleamished record.

I have decided not to pursue police action against him on the grounds that he is a student. However, I still strongly caution fellow Clubsnappers to be very careful, should you insist on dealing with him.

Pathetic. Doing such thing at 22? I'd go report to his school and get his ass kicked if I were you. It's not how much the item is worth. Don't know how many other items he 'borrowed' from others too eh?

Just the SB28.

I'll just post a warning here to our fellow members. No point going that far out to raise my blood pressure.

Forgot to mention -
He comes across as desiring to work as a Photographer's Assistant. My recommendation is to re-consider very very carefully.
Fellow working professionals, you may contact me directly for the reason.

Did you take note of his IC number and address? I think everyone should do this even if the borrower is an acquaintance especially when it comes to such expensive items. Using poor excuses such as 'No time' and 'Too busy' is simply too lame. At worst, he should ask you to get it back from his place. Hope you get back your speedlight soon bro.

azure - think u shld just lodge a police case agst him. this kind of behaviour shldn't be condone even if he's a student. imagine now is a speedlight. i shudder to think wat is this fella capable of, when he enters the working world in a couple of years' time.

sorry to hear abt such things happening on u, man.... :(

My mistake not to, unfortunately.

Thanks for the SMS too. That will be a last resort.

However, I am not expecting to get it back. Like I said, this person does not have a clean record. But I wish to caution folks against buying over the flash, and to be extra careful should they wish to employ him as an assistant.

Uppz for a warning on a cheat! ;(

Anyone from Ngee Ann Photography Club or RageFaction Gaming club can give information on this young cheat?

basket! hate nothing more than a cheat and clone!

will definitely keep a lookout for this joker! ;(

On behalf on Danny Wong Team manager for RageFraction:

From a RageFaction management point of view, we have NO authorized him to borrow ANY form of equipment from anyone, nor asked him to and that we have NOTHING to do with this matter and will assist in any way that we can to resolve it.

And something from me:
Azure hopefully he has called ya cause our friendly team manager just called him and he said he will resolve this matter as soon as possible.

i'd say do him a favour and report him
it is better to correct this now when the matter is still small

wah, tats a nice favour... :bsmilie:

since their manager have stepped in to resolve, even thou he said he is not... azure should just decide what he should do, if that guy din respond, then obviously he should know the consequences already.

i've already informed my commitee members in NP photography club and warned each other of such a character in our club. thanks barnie for the info.

regards

A sad case .. he is giving his future away ..

Azure, hope that he will repent and return the flash to u soon.. He's not a kid.. He's old enough to know and be responsible for his own actions.. Its only a flash now but if he continues like this, we won't know what he will do in the future..

i strongly feel that he has his chance, and a police report should be made. if he wishes not to be proscuted, he should be the one returning without you chasing after him, making all the troubles posting here and there. you are already too nice to loan it out, so let's not let sick people take advantage of that.
