i think they are sleeping while working :)

I didn't get bothered by the security guard leh.. probably i didn't really shoot inside the building.. mostly outside the 3rd level..

those indian secruity guards in green are everywhere what the.

yeah since the stupid security guards restrict u when u are taking pics, remember to bring the entry forms to show them when confronted. they will get P.A.W.N.E.D ! dont mess with me:nono:

I like how it's a shopping centre that encourages photography :D

I think its the management that is not working well, not the guards. They are just working as been told to, and its the management side that never pass down the news hence it is fair and no wrong for the guards to stop the photographers. They should be brief at least, unless some just want to disturb though they know the news? :p

Chey...i went with 2 fellow CSer last time, while we begin to take some photo, 1 security approach my 2 fellow CSer (quite rudely), and the other ask me (though nicely, maybe me gal)..."YOU GOT PAPERWORK ?" huh...

Huh!?really...but I just went there to shoot on April, nobody come and disturb me at all, and I just shoot anyhow I liked, so you mean now need paperwork??

that may be true!

Ok, guys. Got officical reply of the situations there.

Thank you for your email and feedback.

Based on the reports from our Security Officers and Customer Service
Officers; there were 3 occasions where the photographers were stopped.

Once was by our Security Officer on the 3rd level. The photographer
took photos of a mother changing her child who was playing in the water.
The father of the child who was not comfortable having his child being
photographed approached our Security Officer to stop the photographer.

The second one was in the mall. The friend of the shopper whom was being
photographed approached our Customer Service Officer to stop the
photographer.

The third was similar as the above.

On all incidents, the officers did explain that there is a photo
competition going on and the photographers are taking part in it.
However, both parties mentioned did not feel comfortable and thus
insisted that they be stopped.

We seek all the participators of the competition to be more discreet
when taking pictures and understand that some of the public are just not
comfortable having their pictures taken by strangers.

Thank you once again Mr Tan, for taking the time to write to us and
would appreciate if you could share this with your friends.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your friends all
the very best. Good luck!

Yours sincerely,

Gwen Chong

That is the reason why I don't want to take part in this competition. How to shoot discreetly where the place is so crowded with people, the walkways in level 2 and above is so narrow. Photographers carrying a SLR with a big lens will surely be spotted and 'stopped'.

Looks like it require a E330 LiveView in action.

If shoot strangers but the strangers uncomfortable, then I will stop if requested. If shooting part of the buildings and asked to stop by the security when there is a competition going on organised by the building management, I will tell the security guard go fly kite.....for me to shoot. :p

saw so mani people with slrs snapping pics sia wah tough chance leh!

Was there for a short while. Took very few pictures, and they ain't very good to me. Saw a few people with DSLRs. Anyone went there today? Hehe. Maybe going down for more. :D

hmm. i got a question. so if i shoot a photo, i have to deciede which category i want to submit to right. i can't possibly use the same photo for different categories unless its a different photo right. ahhaha.

i think its an obvious q. ahha. doublecheck.

i think they are sleeping while working :)

It's not unusual for their staff to be ill-informed.

Pre-opening was quite a mess as well. It's the management's duty that has not been done well.

Heck, going to pass the comments along and see if the situation improves.:bsmilie:
