Wedding photographer also need artistry. You think just shoot in studio ah? Haven't u heard of outdoor wedding shoot? Normally, they will have both studio and outdoor in the package. Who will want a wedding album that is all studio... not me for one... so damn boring.
Wedding photographer (outdoor) needs to blend his subjects into the surroundings... pretty much same skill as for this competition.
Btw, I think you have made a mistake if you think they want very artistic photos. They just want nice photos of Vivocity. Its for marketing material, not the art museum!

How to prove?
Professional photographer may not win all the time. They do lost to enuthist photograhers too.
There is no clear definiations on PRO or AMAuters.
I guess they would be looking at :
AMAUTER Cat : OK photos. WHY? because if they choose a damm PRO looking photos for the top three prizes, then it will look bad for the PRO cat? right.
PRO Cat : Their photos will be very outstanding! With a lot of things to see like night time of VIVO city from arial view. Sure got one winning photo like that. Eg, u take it from cable car.
Very calender kind with wide angle shoots. It will be difficult to have someone reading a magazine at Page One store and said that is in VIVO city. Right? One winning enry from their children playground and last one from their interior with many shoppers.
Please submit your BEST 3 photos based on what I said, you won't go read.

You have very good points here. Its highly probable but still hard to say if this will really be the case la.

I believe in the form it's also stated as ".....exhibition of original photography works IN Vivocity..."
I'm not sure if it means only photos taken in Vivocity or other works...:think:

Yes, I also interpret as exhibiting your own personal works, and exhibition to be held IN Vivo. So I don't interpret it as photos taken IN Vivo.

yes,maybe the judge think your nephew's pics are worthy of PRO prizes and the Pro's entry cannot make it.

But the rules don't seem to prohibit submitting in two categories (or three, if you're a student).
I guess one can tell from whether a photo was taken candidly for fun, or from a photographer in top form at the moment. Don't tell me you guys are always in top form?
I have submitted my entries to both Amateur and Pro categories depending on how I think they will be perceived, or as I perceive them to be.

8R is 8in x 10in. S8R is 8in x 12in. A4 is roughly around 8in x 11in.
So those A4 photo paper are 8x11?
Then how? Is it ok to print on those paper for the contest?
Btw, do you know how much it costs to get a photolab to print 8R and how long it will take?

I'm thinking it could mean that if a Pro lose to a "never-heard -of" photographer.
Then the pro will bla..bla...bla...
So I think leave it to the pro for pro cat.
Example:
If our 3D animated movie (the dragon underwater...) can't match the quality of even Korea Hong Kong,or Japan, then WHY we bother to put on the Big Screen. I understand that "reality". so I joining AMATUER Cat.
