Happy new owner of an EM-5 after which I spent almost an hr agonizing at the shop whether should I get the Gariz half leather cover or HLD-6 or the JB grip.

Went for the HLD-6 in the end and even though personally wise I'd be using only half the grip (side with the handle) 90% of the time , the grip is really well worth the cash

The JB grip is great but if it had a shutter button placed like the HLD, it's be perfect

Not eventually, all along can use the grip either with the side or together with the battery base. That was meant to be 1 of the highlights of the HLD6.

If u choose to use the full grip , u get the advantage of another batt , 2 more function buttons , a shutter and a main dial

You can get from ebay. Look for decoded battery for em5

Can get it from SLS 2nd level, 02-70 Unicell International. Use Oly charger, price below $30. Model:replace BLN-1. Got 1 to try out mid last year & is still using it till today.

On the other hand you can opt to get the normal 3rd party as a cheaper option ($10). Buy a third party charger ($5) which can also charge the Oly battery. It's even more compact cos it doesn't have wire. I got them from ebay

Anyone knows if BLN-1 batteries from TMART.com work? Searching for a cheap alternative and happen to chance upon that. $10 only.

They also sell charger at $6. Not sure if the batteries they sell are compatible with original charger, or must buy third party one?

No issue at all.

I got 3rd party battery that started to bloat. Better don't leave them in your camera or grip for a long period

You should decide what you want first - lens? flash? accessories? bag? tripod?
Do you have a budget? Worries about warranty?

The range of things you can buy is so broad, and basically many things are cheaper, but will depend on the brand.
