[ Vanity ] Olympus EM-5 accessories thread

i have flash, tripod, filters and bags.

i need len hood

lens maybe if price is right but have limited budget and don't know whether to get or not.

Lens are definitely cheaper though, I do a lot of camera stuff shopping in HK. Eg , got my 12-35 for 12xx when SG was selling for 16xx last dec and I believe prices r even better now. If its 3rd party hood u need, they are definitely worth buying HK.

i am consider 12-35/f2.8 thinking whether worth or not as i have not use too long with my new OMD

which place can get 3th party hood in HK?

i have 3th party flash and still don't know how to use it.

i just bought OMD kit and don't know much.

people say hongkong buy cheaper so thinking just go see see

You should practice using your camera with what you have first before considering what else to add to your gear.

ok.

i go HK to take more photo using my OMD.

firstly i need to get dry cabinet first.. i have shortlist AIPO 48L as have 2 tray than AIPO 38L with 1 tray. i thought it will be useful if have more tray inside.

i need to look for len hood and wireless shutter for OMD.

Do you want to use it on camera or off camera? Why don't you read the manual and experiment first?

can on just i don't know how to bounce the light to make the photo better.

If you want to build up your collection of cameras and gears, then a bigger dry cabinet makes sense. But if you are not buying more cameras and just adding a few more lenses, then I feel the 38L is enough.

Are you going to do a lot of long exposure landscape? If so, then wireless shutter makes sense. If its just family group photos (including yourself), then you may want to try the self-timer on the OMD first.

for the dry cabinet, if i might put inside 2 camera and maybe 1 or 2 PNS and filters, lens, flash gun etc. 38L or 48L will be recommend?
as 48L have 2 tray, i thought it is easy to put the stuffs seperately.

the wireless shutter is buy for convenient instead asking them to wait for 12s, if the price is not expensive.

Unfortunately, the wireless shutter would not be cheap. OM-D does not have a built-in infra red (IR) sensor, thus the cheaper IR wireless shutters would not work on the OM-D. The only option I know of is to use radio wireless triggers, which would be more expensive.

What 2 cameras are you going to put inside? Big dslrs or small pns? Filters can be kept vertical, so it shouldn't take up much space. Again, what lenses are you going to put inside?

hi,

hmm.. ok. Up till now I've no idea what lens are u planning to buy the hood for :/
If its wireless shutter and hood though, I'd actually just get 3rd party ones locally. Red Dot photo at Funan stocks a whole let of hoods. Price savings isn't a lot c.f to buying in HK as well... the 3rd party ones sold locally arent' that expensive.

however if u really want to seek out these in HK, my recommendation is at New Sankyo at hotel holiday inn at TST. Small shop but so far they do stock whatever I have ever wanted to buy at good prices. If u r into lenses, my advice is check out local prices before going and don't buy on impulse.

never ever buy from the camera shops touting 'tax-free' signs. There is no tax / gst in HK.

one mirrorless and one dslr and 1 or 2 small to mid PNS and flash gun.

i have a filter pouch with many slots which i keep filters inside.

lens now only have the only the OMD one.

tempting to get new lens like the P12-35/2.8, maybe not for now till i use my OMD more.

does dry cabinet come with Wave Foam?

I went to New Sankyo in March - was disappointed - I wanted the 9-18mm, they said no stock, but told me the price anyway - and it was similar to the prices here!
