personal interests? he ran NKF like a business and made it pretty big. Wrong company, he shouldn't have done it at a charity, that's what Im saying
I'm also saying that he obviously has the skills to run a company, so $25,000 for his job is not exactly such a great deal
anyway he has to pay off his debts right?

also, you may want to do a a little research into charities.
10 cents for every dollar is not the worst ratio for a charity
plus don't forget the endless hours of entertainment he provided you through those channel 8 charity shows.

I don't condone his actions, but I sure as hell think that some guys here are just acting like moral zealots.
Anything to do with children, poor people, old people, starving people, seem to get many people on their pedestal of morality.

it's not about wrong company, alot of things went wrong other than the man himself. he may deserve the money he is offered to earn now, but he didn't deserve the money he took then. has he finished with servicing his debts yet? we'll only know if the media reports it.

anyway, if 99% of all charities in the world fork out only 1 cent out of 1 dollar donation to ''intended beneficiaries'' then that's just too bad, everyone's stupid and blind to support charities then.

of course we don't need people down here to stand on moralistic pedestals, we need people up there in the position to prove that they deserve to stand on that pedestal entrusted to them. to even say that it's not their fault that ''things happen'' is just so ... well, no word for that.

i agree to a certain extent

which would you prefer
a guy who generates 10 million and scoops 5 million for himself

or a guy who generates 1 million and scoops 20,000 for himself

i prefer a guy who generates 10million and i scoop 9million and give him a pay of 25k per month.

It is more than that.
He was arrogant and ran NKF as a personal empire.
Used the patron like an idiot to intimidate others.

Sued people who told the truth and used the legal process to force them to apologise and pay damages.

Used charity funds donated by people much poorer than himself, to go on Las Vegas trips.

This is an EVIL scheming person.

So don't say that he is good at running companies.

Hitler and his Nazis were also good at running prison camps.
They were also good at winning battles at the start of WW II.

Shrugs
let's not be so idealistic yes
We choose the system we live in
People use the legal system to achieve their ends
you chose to donate to NKF when it's quite obvious that there were issues with the way this company was run in the first place (when a charity can organise a large-scale charity show on television consistently, with a production and advertising that obviously runs in large figures, you know that alot of money is being spent)

Scheming?perhaps. Is that a bad trait to have in a CEO?
Evil? what evil did he do apart from being extravagant in his spending?
At the end of the day no one forced you to give him your money. I wouldn't give anyone money consistently without making enquiries into where the money is going.

Welcome to the world of capitalism!

I think that when he was in a position of strength, and others at his mercy, he went all out to bully them. You know what I mean, no compassion.
In the process, he got more arrogant and may have felt that he was untouchable.
It is exactly this overblown pride and cruelty to others, that led him to his downfall, when he thought that he could once again intimidate the news reporter and the newspaper.

Did you realise that a simple acknowledgment and some humility would have saved the day?
Just say
[sorry, the gold tap is true. But it was the designer's choice. And anyway it only cost $XX. We take responsibility for not correcting the designer. We will immediately change the choice of tap to reflect the charitable nature of the building. Thanks for highlighting. ]

See--- damage control.

Just a little bit of humility goes a long way.

And the whole Board will still be intact. Some enjoying tremendous privileges and fancy first class flights to expensive study trips using donor's money.

All CEO jobs should come with a money back guarantee.

actually i can also do his $25k job lei... i will accept $12.5k to be stationed there 24 hrs ! Dear UAE, do u hear me ?

With such great value, I'm sure they will be happy to hire you. Can even let you choose your favorite designer toilet bowl and tap as perks!

If as a donor, I certainly prefer the guy who generates 1 million and scoops 20,000 for himself than the other.
