The equipment and infrastructure you talking about is If I recall correctly just that...it all came mainly from that 10 cent. What the other balance 90 cent was used for was on maintain the existence of the comapny, expansion plan, building more facility and (nice) offices, salary and other interesting stuff like... over-quoted outsource projects ..etc. If someone else here can recall it better then me please feel free to chip in...there is a stipulation by the Govt as a guideline as to how much for every dollar has to be set up for actually helping as opposed to funds for expansion, maintening the facilitys, equipment..etc.
To qualify as a charity organisation, there has to be terms and condition to follow in order to qualify for such status of company It is not just about "wants". It is about greed that ticks me off....if not why are so many members of the board of director charged in court one after the other? What's the use of making the company look good, build nice buildings and offices when in the end, the number of people they are actually helping could have been alot more if they( not just about TT but the entire board) just back off heav spending on the "sugar coating" aspect of running the charity organisation. Utimately, is that not what they were suppose to do....help the people in need.
And even now, some might say since he will be working in a profit making company far removed from a charitable company..those "qualities" he has will be okay in that context. Knowing what you know now about his past "sense of business" who would even trust him to deal commercially with him(or the comapny he represent)... or...knowing who and what he is capable of, I guess if they want something "nasty" or questionable done, I guess Durai is your man.
Anyway....only time will tell what awaits this man of the hour. Where he's heading...it is not like Singapore. How they deal with people of his kind when caught with their hand in the cookie jar...we can only imagine.
