there will still b grey sets, regardless of the international warranty.

international warranty only applies to local sets which are bought in their respective countries.

eg if u buy a local set in HKG, it is covered by the local warranty, so it will be covered by the international warranty.

but if u buy a grey set regardless of which country which isn't covered by the local warranty but the shop warranty, it won't be covered by the international warranty.

when i say local warranty, i mean the local warranty provided by tokina, not shop.

so as long as it's a official warranty from tokina, then it shld be international warranty then?

they replied there's a diff if warranty comes from USA, thou they didn't specify but i think better check where the warranty comes from when buy tokina lenses next time

at shop can test the lens sharp or not, got some lenses really see your luck one lor.

frtom my experience, courts mega store at tampines has the best prices for tokina. eg, bought my 100mm macro for $670 from cathay but courts sell for $530. was shocked. got my 12-24 from courts for $700 in the end. but that was 2+ years ago. not so sure now. haha. anyone tried the 35 2.8 macro? sounds nice.

Sorry guys,need to bring up this old thread.

I was thinking buying Tokina 100mm f2.8 (canon mount)
but many reputable shops i call dun even have stock for this model
except CP quoted me $690.
TCW even told me this model has been discontinue, is that true?
MS quoted me sigma 105mm SGD8xx.
Finally,PSilk from holland & katong called me to inform me they could get a set for me @ $67x( customer service very good :thumbsup
but the point is canon 100mm f2.8 is retailing at SGD 82X from PSilk.
Guys,needed advise..is buying 3rd party still worth it if the price dun really differ too much from canon 100mm f2.8?

I'm planning to get Tokina 11-16mm for my canon 550D. As I'm going to HK on the 29 Dec, so I have the thought of buying there as it will be cheaper than Singapore.

But will there be stock?. And what will be the price difference?. Anyone can advise?

wa didnt know courts got sell tokina... last thursday i went to look for my 35mm macro and cathay quoted me ridiculously high also... $820 and unknown shipping date cuz no stock.. lucky in the end i managed to find one at TKfoto for 390.. even cheaper than BHphoto price. seems like got discount for that particular lens cuz got sticker with written price.. left 1 more canon mount version on the shelf when i left

dun have a ff to test but looks good on my d7k. focus quite fast also.. with the limit switch on its comparable with my 50 1.8
