i am using 12-24mm...i got it 2nd hand off cs..paid less than 600

I bought mine in 2007, the price was $545....hmm , so that is an increase of $120 but then prices have risen for all lenses right?
The price increase is ridiculous, in HK even the expensive shops are selling less than S$550.

Guess I'm not going to buy from Singapore then.

Yea I did research, its about HK$3208 to buy from HK online, including shipping.

But cannot test before buy sigh..

Oh man, I'm in the same situation. I've used the Tamron 90mm for about two years, it's a brilliant lens, but build leaves much to be desired. I want a change so I was thinking of the Tokina. I was planning on calling a few shops tomorrow.

I might call up TK tomorrow. Wanna order from HK together? :bsmilie: And since lenses have international warranty, it should be quite safe right? :dunno:

If I can't get a Tokina I will go back to Tamron after all :(

I am using Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 and Tokina 50-135 f2.8. Very reasonably priced for such good lenses.

Ok pm me after you call TK tomorrow. See where else can get it cheap.

Called a bunch of shops, went down to Cathay and OP.

Tokina 100mm: $760 at OP and Cathay
Tamron 90mm: $540 at TK and MScolor

The weird thing is, price for the Tamron seems to have gone down?!

Started with this thread? :bsmilie: Good to see many Toki users ... still looking for 1-2 more lens. Hopefully a Toki AT-X ... :)

Ya may be...my Toki 100mm just feel so nice in my hands, it's really solidly built.

I got the Tk12-24 and of course, the Tk28-70F2.6-2.8.

Just wanna to highlight 2 other aspects of these lenses - the AF ring doesn't turn during AF, thanks to the clever focus ring clutch:thumbsup:. The other thing is that both are constant length zooms, so that no air is exchanged with the outside during zooming, so less dust get in.

I was considering the Tk100, but the price seems to be rather stiff leh. Well, still considering la.

I'm a very happy user of the Tokina 11 - 16 F2.8. I'm extremely pleased with the results shot wide open and when stepped down to F4 or more it really gave Nikon a punch on the face. I carry it all the time as my walkabout lens ;)

I got the 11-16 three months back and it has been serving me very well. The construction is solid and PQ is very good. I find it good value for money and it is great for landscape.

Just added the Toki 100mm macro to my collection ... yet to have a chance to use though :embrass:
