Tokina Fans/Users

Not exactly a fan but I have tokina/sigma/tamron lens - as it's cheaper than canon L lens.

Tokina that i still use:-
19-35 f3/5-4.5 (internal focus and don't extend out )
28-70 f2.8 (this is one heavy lens)

Tokina's 80-200 f2.8 is even worst. I don't even dream of taking it out for a walk these days :( Getting lazy and weak liow :)

Dn't knw if I'm a fan cause I've only owned x2 lens..:bsmilie:

But if u see my flickr, seems my 11-16mm staying on most times.
Just that really still learning how to use it well.
And when others are standing far far with their big zoom lens, you gotta rush in close close into the face..:bsmilie:

And I did not buy it to shoot 'landscape'.
Sianz always people thought its only for fitting wide wide scenery into a frame.:)

I too have the Tokina atxpro 28 - 70 F2.6 - 2.8 Though it only appears at F2.8 on my S5pro. Got it 2nd hand from my previous job for a very very beautiful $120 lol. Boss had 3 identical lenses then. And i had just bought my first dslr, a D70 then. So he sold it off to me really cheap because they were just left in the dry cabinet. Sadly the front cap is a nikon and i don't have a lens hood. Its very hard to find one for this lens. Since then, i bought a tokina 100mm F3.5 macro lens. Which i sold off not too long ago. And now sold off all my nikon lenses and getting 3rd party lenses. I'm eyeing a sigma just so that i can have "Tokina, tamron, sigma & voigtlander" Its a stupid reason but that's what make us human ;)

I have used both canon 100mm and toki 100mm. i find the extras i have to fork out for the canon set is not justified. Toki lens are good. i am suprise.

Hey guys, who knows where is the service centre for Toki ... address & contact? Thot of sending mine in for routine servicing/cleaning ... thanks ya :)

Toki's agent is Cathay Photo. Although their service centre is somewhere in one commercial building, you can send the lenses to their Peninsular or Marina's shops.

Any updates on the price of Tokina 100mm macro?

Most welcome Bro ... Just sending in for routine cleansing & servicing to maybe lengthen the lifespan somehow :)

I heard Tokina company is a kind of spin-off of Nikon lens division. The lens is built solid at least, compared with the plastic feeling of Tamon/Sigma.

Hi users of Tokina 11-16,

Just to check with you guys, is this lens comes with a pouch? I know it got a hood. Thanks

i dun think so...not for tokina...but sigma n tamron has i think

The 11-16 comes without pouch. Only hood.

But I don't really care about the pouch. The lens either lies in my drybox without the need of pouch, or stays in my camera bag where I need to access it quickly. The small lens cap is enough.

I have a 17, 19-35, and 28-70. The 28-70 is really good for the price.
