I can't tell you how happy I am with this shot! There was hardly any light in the area here, and I had to do manual focus.

I love the moment
I love the kid's look
I love hitting manual focus spot on!!!

Anyway, yea, low light was very challenging even with a fast lens =( Now I learnt my limitations. This picture's exif:

ISO 1600, 1/160s, on-board flash (+1 EV compensation) 85mm, F2.5, this is a 25% crop, the noise starts showing at 50% =(

Distance to target about 8 to 10 meters. I actually fired one shot first to get her to look my way. lol.

And yes... I'm going to get an external flash now! Darn I want it! BBB!

Theres also red eye on the picture actually =( Downside of shooting in low light.

Hey guys! I'm back from Vietnam! Here are some of the interesting pictures!

Excellent frame and DOF (both foreground and background), now go touch the colors up. =P Kind of underexposed.
Hows this? Better?

Hi everyone.

I just got my FZ28 on X'mas eve. Just wondering if any of you managed to get the optional HDMI cable for the FZ28? If so, where and how much does it cost? Find some contradicting reports on this issue. Some sites claim that there is no HDMI output whereas some say yes.

Oh yeah, can the cable be used on the LX3 too?

hello ppl, just got back from a wedding and the firework countdown...
didn't shoot much for the wedding coz rather few of my primary sch mate turn up, so decided to stick around and chat and not MIA to take photo...

as for the countdown, its crazily crowded... didn't get a really good spot but nvm, i'm still trying to figure out how to shoot firework anyway... alot of my photo is over expose...
but for now, i can confirm tat to take firework use highest F-# as possible, and slow shutter speed to get a chain of firework... but still i find alot of photo over exposed, i guess i have to go to another firework to find out if i should use black card or ND filter... and look at those noise at the guy t-shirt... terrible... lol

Splendid fireworks there! Nice!

Good fireworks skyguy... but why got noise?!?!??! very bad somemore, you used ISO 1600?

If you used ISO 200 maybe you would not have overexposed...?

Actually if you want to practice fireworks, its quite easy... Just get a friend to play torchlights in a dark room, and you try to capture with different settings. =) Of course fireworks may be a little stronger, so settings will give and take. haha.

Overall, the city background and the crowd in the foreground works well, no.1 being the best, and uh, level the horizon maybe =X

And hm, I think you were trying to compose the couple in the 2nd and 3rd pic... remember the flash technique I was talking about in the last outing? Should have used here! Would be better if can use rear shutter flash, duno wheres the slow-sync mode on your FZ18, can't find it now! haha.

0h yea... its damn tilted

iso i put as low as possible... for every shot i think, my iso is always the lowest... morning or night...

anyway i didn't use flash becoz i am concentrating on the firework, didn't even notice the couple infront of my will be capture... i actually photoshop it, mask and layer to expose the couple even better, and i think it work better than flash, coz flash can be quite harsh, and using the firework as the light sort of work
