S, what time are you available? Maybe we can hang around longer to tailor to your timing?
I'm going out with a group of pros this tuesday for a Xmas lights shoot.
I hope you are talking about professional photograhers!!!!

Hi Vinze, fishing would be great but I won't have any gear with me, but I was thinking of hitting a tacle shop and maybe buying a new baitcasting reel.
Is there any place that you can hire rods and reels, is there a pond that you can fly fish?
Would really like to find out more about the fishing scene in S/pore cuz if I retire there I would miss fishing terribly.
hey Rob, there's fishing ponds over here, my dad's a fishing fanatic too, 1 cupboard in my room has at least a dozen rods.. he usually 'tries' to sneak in a new one without letting my mum know but well.. heh ;p
depending on the location you settle down, some ponds would charge est SGD70 for 12 hours, either 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am, and i really advise you to bring your rods over or get a new one..
having personally loaned a few.. it just isnt worth the queue and money
Sadness, I found a scratch in one of the middle elements of my favorite lens. =(
Hey, I have been sneaking rods and reels in just like your Dad. My wife has not yet noticed that my rod rack is getting full so I leave some gear at my fishing buddies place just to avoid the wrath of the Minister of Finance. Are there any boats that do off-shore fishing trips, if there are what do they charge? Is there a website I can look at.
Are there places where you can leave your boat in in storage and get it launched if I decide to buy a boat when we move there.
Here in Oz we take our boats home, but in Singapore I don't think I will even bother with owning a car, but a boat is a necessity.
hey vinze, which one you went to? i was charged 70 that time when i went to the one at pasir ris, for 1 rod only
end up only caught 4, gave up and put them back
How can that happen Mr. Ombre?
Hi ombre
Congrats on finishing exams  How long to get results?
I have been given OK to get Raynox DCR 250 had to agree to let Amy go to Cameron Highlands with her son and daughter-in-law two days before I go home. I protested that I didn't want to get the macro lens if it meant I had to be away from my lovely wife for one moment,.......then I could not keep a straight face anymore and broke out laughing, what a win , win situation. I get the lens I want and total freedom on last two days, to do what ever I want. And I get to play the martyr. "OK sweety you go off and have a good time, I'll be fine all by myself just sitting around waiting for my flight home" hehehehe
"Don't worry about me, I'll be fine all alone in a strange country, by myself, by the way is the credit card paid up? Whack!!!!:sweatsm:
pasir ris rates are lower bro
35 for 1 rod 7pm ~ 7am
45 for 1 rod 7 am ~ 7 pm week ends
its usually 50 for 3 hours at the pro pond.
Im there every other sat night
Hi ombbbre, thanks for your words of wisdom, maybe Tcon will be better choice seeing as I can still use closeup filters. I hope Mr Skyguy will allow me to try his Raynox, may have to put it on back burner and get in June on next trip.
How much is a 2x Tcon roughly? Might have to get both, Amy will be away so while the cat is away the mice can act like rats!!!!
Best option is a TCON-17 via the numbers of reviews I read, and well I had it hands-on myself too. So yea, it did the job, although you can still expect contrast loss. The image was still fairly sharp.
I haven't seen it selling in shops, I heard that it goes for 135 brand new at TK (bugis). Should be only around 70-90 2nd hand.

Anyway guys, I found this website that sells stuff pretty cheap and they deliver worldwide for free. I'll be buying some items from there, just wondering if you guys want to hitch a ride and we can get the bulk discounts, they have photography accessories there.
http://www.dealextreme.com
I've looked through some of their products, mostly are 3rd party stuff, although they seem to have some genuine stuff. Avoid the filters unless its something you don't use often (like a star filter). Avoid the memory cards too, they look iffy. Generally, only buy things that are dirt cheap and that you generally can't go wrong about. (Hoods, Straps, Covers, lens caps, Blowers).
They're known to be reliable but somewhat slow (like 1 month delivery), or so I gather from other photography forums.
So let me know if you guys wanna get some stuff, I'm only opening it to my friends on this thread, so yea =), try to keep it to the low cost items only, and I'll actually require you to transfer me the money first. (Don't worry I'll try to print the invoices to prove that I'm not taking a slice out of it!)
I'm already getting 2 items, their discounts are for 3, 5 or 10 items together. =)
Can i have a blower ? ** no naughty thoughts.
need something to clean my lens
How cheap would it be ?
