Skyguy, your turn to retire... haha.

Clunk your works looks superb. Favorite being no 3. The shadows of the tree seems to fit nicely with the "tree like" fireworks.

Good colors too, did you correct them?

5 and 6 are quite a wonder too... Excellent first attempt all in all. Perfect settings. What were they? Care to share?

yes i agree! im really interested to find out the settings too:bsmilie:

yea man... 3 and 5 is good...

Although I can't help but notice some extra details in picture 3 =) Here's my shot at bringing it out, I hope the colors don't look fake... they're there just not as visible, just tried to bring them out abit. It might be nicer for some but I like the whitish effect on the original one you took =) Has more of a sense of.. urm... surreality.

Great designs over there by the way, probably due to the cheaper cost of magnesium? (Or whatever they use?)

Thank-you guys, I have not done any colour correction, only slight crop. Settings were pretty much as what ombre suggested F7.1 ISO 100 3.2 sec. I did have a black card which I should have probably used more. The fireworks were rapid fire and many shots were over exposed or just a mass of smoke. I didn't realise that 3.2 seconds is quite a long time, and before you know it the entire display is finished. You really have no time to waste changing settings and I only managed to check shot review once. All in all happy with results, looking forward to NYE.
Ombre I like what you have done with the colours on picture 3, that one looks quite weird doesn't it? Looks more like a dried out weed or grass.

I didn't mess with the colors actually, I improved the contrast and saturation to bring out what I think I saw in the original photo... and yea, there were extra colors. Haha. I wanted to tamper with the color actually, wanted the blue to be a little more mystifying, but it leaned towards cyan the more I did it, so skipped... But I'm not that good in photoshop too anyways, just trying to learn some new methods so I tried it out =)

But hey, they're really good shots. Yea, if I were u I'd just use a 1 second review or turn it off. No chance for waiting in such. I'm glad my settings worked =)

Exams in 1 & 3 days. Alright... time to go hard on the books!

3 and 5 is nice! i like 2 also. has that "phoenix" kind of feel.

Another one, just cropped and resized

Hey clunk, did you keep the originals? I think maybe you shouldn't crop too much... the sky gives a spacious effect to the fireworks, although it may reduce the details of the works itself...

I like A the best, from this set. =)

Coolzephyr, or one of the girls, haha, can the girls think of the "theme and objectives" of the little activity for that day? I suppose girls will be better at it. =)

hey clunk, did u use black card... i think maybe i should do blackcard for my firework shoot next time... can help lower the exposure of the firework...

was wondering wat u mean by "theme and objective"??? is it for the prize thingy?

Hi Skyguy, yeah I did use a black card, on about 3 pics , can't remember which ones, everything was happening so quickly. I did get a lot of over exposed and very smokey shots like this.

I think a black card would cut back the chances of so many shots with too much happening.

I think the idea of theme or someting was Mr. Ombre's idea.

I still got originals btw

Try one with lots of sky space around the fireworks... =) You look a little to "near" the works.

anyway yea, I thought we're going to have our little mini marathon? haha.

Exams tomorrow, going to sleep now. Cya all!

The fireworks were quite low level, right in your face.

Oh no! What a dissappointment:cry:. Maybe some other time. Usually we are flat out like lizards drinking, but this trip Amy and I have not scheduled ourselves to death. I know we are thinking about going to the Jurong Bird Park one day. It was there that we first met.
I will be posting our plans when we arrive, hopefully we can meet any FZers for a coffee.
