fact is...a flash is a flash.
will you be able to tell the difference if i show you a pic and ask you which flash it is shot with?

i dont see the point of posting pictures taken with sb900.:dunno:

:thumbsup:good point.

Well said... It depends on the user and the light modifiers used if any.

Strobist website has a review on SB-900 and compared it with the SB-800. It's a good read before you buy SB-900 on impulse.

in the hands of amateurs, maybe.

in the hands of a pro, u will.

awe man... I almost bought it at John 3:16 ;p *resisted*

I was on my way back to my office with lunch in my hand and walked past the shop and Samuel used his magical hand and wave "come in brudha" show you the SB-900... and I immediately turned zombie and walked into the shop. :bsmilie:

I must say the SB-900 is a class of its own. and like many has said, but I just wanted to say it myself... ITS HUGE! :bsmilie:

wow, i like the way the designed the master/ remote thingy as a button there. Makes the job easier.

Did i also see a battery indicator/

you mean a PRO can tell if a pic is shot by sb800?or 900?or simple headshot portrait using bowens, profoto, broncolor...blah?

i seriously dont think so.

Shot from my MIL's house (7 stories up). Surprised, the light coverage could reach the school building and field 30 metres away in complete darkness (ISO 1000). My SB800 could only light the same area if it is (ISO 2500). I am sure the 'long light decay' of the SB900 would come in handy as compared to the SB800. Close up not much different.

Could do the same experiment next week and post the images, as my SB800s not at my MIL's house.

You mind explaining the "long light decay" to me? It sounds scary. Later cannot play with high shutter speeds cut off ambient light anymore. But I still find it hard to fanthom how a flash can have long light decay.

there isn't any batt indicator... sadly. what u see is, i think the thermal cut-out symbol

Yes, it looks like a battery indicator but its not. Wonder how useful the thermal cut-out symbol is, seems quite redundant to me :)
