Because in Indonesia, if a meal is served with anything but rice it is only a snack... for a proper meal it must be with rice. This is what I was told when I first saw that in Jakarta.

Don't foget Banana split ice cream and waiters wearing paper hats. Also chilli were served right there on each table and in a bottle and you can pour as much chilli as you like.
I think it starts with Snack Plate, Dinner Plate, Five Piece, Bucket and Barrel, maybe one more in between Five Piece and Bucket.

Hmmm seemed like a couple of people here frequent the Airport Popeye.
Working at airport made me pretty sick of the food here already.
But oh well, sometimes I too have cravings for better chicken at POPEYE!

there's only one thing...
on my list of simply bueysai.
the old army combat ration. the plain rice takes the ultimate honour.
so hard u can throw it at ur enemies and they will knock out! needless to say, it never gets into my SBO. :bsmilie:
the glutinuous chicken rice is.... so bad tat everyone chuck it away the first instance they got the ration.
now i heard the new ration is wat pasta la... wat duck rice la...
waseh.... now army good life. :thumbsup:
We don't throw the plain rice at enemy, my buddy joked about using it as ammo. It is just that hard. You will be better off eating wood pulp than the glutinous chicken rice. Wonder who did they employ to prepare that. Beavers?
The best ration is the dessert and no one bothered to eat that. Back in BMT, I collected enough from my platoon to last me for a month.
Hardly any food sold outside is fit for human consumption. My gf and I both agree that some are only fit to feed the pigs.

ya, it is compulsory to exchange rations back then. of cos no one wants the plain rice n the glue-chicken rice. hehehe
i'll always take baked beans and desserts plus the chocolate cookies.
eating the baked beans ensured that i fart all the way and that is not tactical. :bsmilie:
