Yah the D2Xs they still have got stock ??? Funny Lor and at thar price :dunno::dunno:

And do you notice how much is the price tag for D2 HS ?
$2000 for 4.1 MPixel camera.

This is a very rare case for photography advertising bloopers

I think D7000 is still not compact. It's neither here nor there.
If want compact, go for D3100 which is using EXSPEED II too. :bsmilie:

Agree with you :)

If you want a compact body with EXSPEED II, better go to Nikon D3100. This camera is a very good companion for traveling. Between 4/3 or D3100, if I want to travel to a remote area, I would choose D3100.

For a semi-pro DSLR body with good ergonomics and weather-resistant magnesium-alloy body, my choice would definitely go to D300s.

And D7000 ? I don't think I would buy this one. This camera is not here and not there.

Almost S$2,200 for a D7000? Wow... That's coming really close to the D300s. It is inevitable that the D7000 will cannibalize some of the D300s sales, so is this a mechanism to minimize collateral damage?

my take is d300s replacement will probably cost even more

definitely . . . cos it will be higher spec than D7k . . . :)

It actually very cheap already.:)

That is because it comes with kit lens for D7000.
D300s is body only.

Hopefully D7000 one day will do without kit lens..
Than I think will be a good buy.

How much is the price of kit lens 18-105 VR ? Should be around $300 right ?
$2200 - $300 = $1900 for body only, still too expensive for a D7000.

When the tide is over, body only price should be in the range of 1.6 to 1.7k. Pretty worth buying comparing to the bro 300s.

The dust will settle.

And when it does, it will be good time to strike. ;)

Some people here prefer to pre-order the camera. As the first opening price is usually very high, they are still willing to pay the premium price.

To get a "normal" price, should wait about 4-6 months from first launching of the product ;)

Or wait till it appears in B&S

I don't think we need to wait 4-6 months for the price to normalize, Nikon will be torn to move inventory by normalizing the price as fast as possible as it is Christmas season or risk to lose sales, either die hard will hang on to the purchase and buy other toy instead of camera or those sitting on the fan will just switch camp as this is the time of the year adult are shopping for their toys :)

Chances are Canon will drop price on their 60D soon, usual tactic but it always work, i.e. hanging on to high price for a hot product will not do Nikon good for their sales over the Christmas season. D7000 is a volume product for Nikon unlike D300s and D700, so the name of the game is inventory turn. My two cents opinion :)
