D200 D300 D300s all made in T-land too... and they turned out great.

Hyundai car factory in Beijing produces cars with a much lower defect rate than Hyundai Korea.

IMHO which country a product is made has totally no correlation with defect/failure rate.

Whether a factory is managed well, I think that is key.

Yes, I totally agreed with you bro D:devil:123. Just my opinion lah. That's why i say "may";)

But when it comes to Toyota, I make sure I buy JDM only cos I hv too many friend telling their MiT Camry is crap S#*^ but my JDM is smooth all the way:lovegrin:

d300s only come in body only if im not wrong

IMHO, I wld go for the D300s depending on your primary use of the DSLR.
How often do you do HD video vs still shoots?
Do you also need mega-pixels ie 16mp vs 12mp? Most often, 12mp is more than enough unless you wanna do huge prints. Either way, the D300s is sufficient.
Is fast AF important?
D300s has gained a respectable reputation as a DSLR; has quite a following and also used by pros...
D7K is relatively new and at the rate Nikon is churning out entry-level or mid-entry cams, I wont be surprised if D7000S/8000 is already in the pipeline.

If you are one who's into newer models, by all means, get the D7000 but get a good lens to go with it. Good, I mean, a 17-55mm f2.8 lens. My humble 2-cents ;)

You might want to know the best rated Toyota factory is the one in Canada actually, in Ontario. ;) They make the Camrys for the American market and also Lexus RX300, I think.

since there is no kit for d300s, how much am i looking at for d300s body and a general purpose lens?

not long ago, nikon has a D300s promotion which is about 2k and free a 50 1.8d lens if i'm not wrong.

brand new prime 50 1.8d is around $200, 30 1.8g around 300+.

kit lens like 18-55, 18-105 should be around 300.

Maybe, the new D300X or D400 should use 2 or more CF cards and name the slots A, B, etc. Don't rojak mix CF with SD. Why? Not sure also.

On Oct promotion, it is S$2100 that comes with 50mm F/1.8 D.
Now, the price is at S$2488.

Below are the price lists - SITEX 2010.

It's only SITEX 2010 price, but not street price.

Thanks for the SITEX 2010 price list.
Anyone took the D300s promo during the SITEX ?

Compared with D7000, please note that D300s come with additional bonuses:
- Nikon Travel Bag
- 2x 8Gbyte SD Card
- AFD 50mm f/1.8

:bigeyes::thumbsup:

your best bet is to ask whoever processed the image..but he may not want to share with you his PP technique ;)

That's why we have CS, to share :)

Shooting in RAW would be easier to adjust WB, but not compulsory.

The color could be changed by PP software, edit from JPEG or RAW file format, by adjusting the Hue and Saturation.

PP u mean photoshop right? or..?

if i adjust the hue and saturation... my human objects also become very yellow... i tried to cut out the human object as another layer while adjusting the background layer.. wah result come out not so nice.. but of cause it might be due to my skills .. so was hoping i could find the actions and just woosh weesh in 1 click!

haha....

I don't get it, why you choose a D300s, when all the above you mentioned shows that D7000 outperform D300s, other than D300s is perceived to be use by pros, and D7000 is an entry level...

Are u using the features of the camera or bothering about how people perceive you with the type of camera you are carrying?

Just my honest and brutal feedback...
