thanks... ask liao leh... he say his patented customized effects so cant share with me. wahaahah

Shoot with iphone, hipstamatic apps, can give you similar color effect...

if not, you have to adjust color, contrast, HUE, Saturation and highlight to achieve similar effect... to make it look more like lomo, you can add in lens distortion.

Cheers...

PP u mean photoshop right? or..?

if i adjust the hue and saturation... my human objects also become very yellow... i tried to cut out the human object as another layer while adjusting the background layer.. wah result come out not so nice.. but of cause it might be due to my skills .. so was hoping i could find the actions and just woosh weesh in 1 click!

haha....

Other software also able to adjust the hue and saturation.

In Photoshop, of course you should separate the layers between human object and the background, which is not that simple to do, especially if dealing with the hairy things ...

played around with an image in LR3 and managed to get it looking like this. QUITE similar i'd say except the original image has alot more colors than the original image of the one wapiang posted.

1) lower saturation to ungodly levels
2) increase contrast
3) add a bit of brown split-toning and control the saturation of the brown color as desired
4) tone curve adjustment. Pushing up the 'lights' to make the skin shine.

hope this helps:)

IMHO, I wld go for the D300s depending on your primary use of the DSLR.
How often do you do HD video vs still shoots?
Do you also need mega-pixels ie 16mp vs 12mp? Most often, 12mp is more than enough unless you wanna do huge prints. Either way, the D300s is sufficient.
Is fast AF important?
D300s has gained a respectable reputation as a DSLR; has quite a following and also used by pros...
D7K is relatively new and at the rate Nikon is churning out entry-level or mid-entry cams, I wont be surprised if D7000S/8000 is already in the pipeline. If you are one who's into newer models, by all means, get the D7000 but get a good lens to go with it. Good, I mean, a 17-55mm f2.8 lens. My humble 2-cents ;)

D7K is relatively new and Nikon has already admitted the hot pixel issue. Nikon would release an update firmware to fix it, although I doubt it would works as not a repair on the hardware itself.

Look like Nikon is too rush for launching the D7K ...

I also would go to D300s. As I remember, D300s don't have such an issue after its release.

with regards to that pp effect:

the one wapiang posted seems to have a slight 'film' feel to it.

what i do sometimes is:

1.) dublicate the layer
2.) choose 'overlay' instead of normal mode
3.) desaturate the second layer (the one that is 'overlay')
4.) merge down

this tends to give a film 'feel' for me, but also depends on the individual photo. contrast is increased as well though so might not be exactly the effect you're going for.

yes it works for me.

you have to make sure when you desaturate you only desaturate the duplicate layer (the one that is 'overlay', not the base layer.

if you make a hue/saturation adjustment layer and desaturate, it will seem like the whole photo becomes bnw, but you have to merge the saturation adjustment layer down to the 'overlay' layer.

But it would still be irritating if you already spent lot of money to buy a new camera D7000 then later need to upgrade just few weeks after you purchased it.

Hope Nikon will do more check-up before selling the later products (D700 replacement in mid of next year) ...

I think they just purchased it few weeks back.

And one of the guy want to trade his D7000 and all of his Nikon lenses for EOS 60D.

3K is quite a lot ...

Nikon has already admitted the hot pixels issue on D7000, waiting for promise of firmware update to fix the issue, limited stocks in Singapore, people should look back at Nikon D300s as the best choice. Nikon D300s has already proof the quality.

Just my 2 cents...

feel like taking back my vote... wanna vote d300s instead :bsmilie: tinking of upgrading to d300s n try learning from there with all the shortcut buttons like those on a professional body.. but it's still pretty expensive =/

Bros, do not just compare the specification with D7000 & D300s,

go to the shop and take a look, then definitely you will select D300s.

I vote for D300s!! :D

I'm currently using a D5000.. and i think that the D300s is a good upgrade....

right now got d300s promo at john 3:16

consists of more freebies :bsmilie:
