Sounds like it's wiser to invest in those 4/3 mount? But in sites like photographyreview.com doesn't tell me the mount system?

The system (hence lens et. al.) is still very much new so you'd probably not be able to get much reviews on photographyreview. Try doing a search on clubsnap on previous discussions on the 4/3 system, its pros and cons. You can browse through the Oly SLR forums on dpreview. Many happy users there as i gather.

Folks who have the C2000-C5000 series will be happy to know that the wireless remote RM-1 can be used with this camera.

Any idea where is the E-300 made-in?

Should be made-in-Japan. Will let you know once I got mine :)

Eh? The staff at SITEX told me the camera will be made in Japan....

for a DSLR so cheap, cannot be made in Japan. :)

sames goes for the Canon 300D.

Actually, the first release of both Nikon D70 and Canon 300D where both made in Japan.

I just looked at pictures posted on a Chinese website. I saw the Made-in-China label on the 14mm-54mm lens

do not worry about made in where. all made in china.
my mum is working in China Custom. all the fujistu air-con in the world all passed though my mum including very very small volume to Singapore.

they are all made in China but marked as made in Japan legally.
why?
ok, the normal process for making parts in China and assembly in Japan can mark made in japan which few years Japan and other contries did, right?
but now because the price competition, Japan companies even wants to cut the extreme expensive labour cost in their land.

the normal process should be
1. made parts in china (parts cost + labour Cost)
2. ship them from China to JP (Tax + Shipping)
3. assembly in Japan (labour cost in JP)
4. marked Made in japan
5. export to SG (Tax)

so now, they change:
1. made parts in China including assembly directly(parts cost + china labor cost for both parts and assembly) and marked Made in Japan.
2. put them in some kind of warehouse offered my China Custom, pay(Tax, and rental fee of the part of the warehouse, the warehouse is times bigger than football field) this process is legal and equal to export them from CHN to JP because they already paid the export tax.) so the place of the warehouse they rent is just like JP's land temporarily.
3. pay another tax for the goods shipping back from Japan ("the Japan temp land in that warehouse offered by china Custom") to China. so this temp Japan land's ownership returns back to China.
4. it suppose send the goods back to china factory and do some assembly work but it was already done in Step 1.
5. so everything is done and the products already finishing step 1 and still on that Japan land which control by china Custom so no need back to factory, and just ask the Custom to check the goods, and ship to Singapore after paying the tax from China To SG.

in conclusion,
method 1, which i am sure no more use nowadays:
the JP company pay
Japan Labor + CHINA Labor
1 Shipping Cost from C to J and 1 shipping cost from J to S
Tax from C to J and Tax from J to S

method 2,
the JP company pay
CHINA Labor(parts) + China Labor(assembly)
Save the Shipping from C to J and 1 Shipping cost from C to S
Tax from C to J and J to C and C to S

so one more TAX = (JP Labor - CHINA Labor) + Shipping Cost from C to J
get made in JAPAN legally. and lots of bonus method 2 gets: easy management, time saving.......

for those cheap items no need to try to make it made in JP just like the kit lens, so can even save the one more TAX. if the body is "made in JP", then people will buy it.
this method is used internationally and legally but only few countries are suitable for it.

10 years ago, if made in JP then it is made in JP for parts and assembly
5 years ago, its parts may made in China and assembly in JP.
but now, all can be possible of made in China. (but not all, JP still has factories, right?)
