Now the hard part is to send the money across as banks impose heavy charges on the receipent (about $200) so am trying to get someone to bring the $ for me... I think I will be taxed GST upon arrival but it will still be approx $250 cheaper compared to S$ prices.
Maybe when I make a trip to Japan next time, will let you know can tompang or not. I learnt that there is a big second hand market there and Japanese keep their items very well. So may be possible to get a good Oly lens at a good price...
i think u can just send your friend an International Bank Draft. its just like a normal cheque, but at international level, only the receipent with the same name as the draft is eligible to cash it. i don't think there's any extra charge on the receipent. u can get a draft from major Post Office or a cheque (only available for major currencies) from banks. hope this helps.
ask your friend to send it to u as a christmas gift through normal registered mail? by the time it arrived, it wud be dec already. i think u can get away with it. ;p
whats good to buy at their 2nd hand market? at least need to see the goods before buying, right? :bsmilie:
keep me inform, if u like, PM me with such info. thx in advance.
(ps. u can PM me your email so that i can send u pics taken with the 14-54mm. looking at the tomatoes, i prefer them redder & fresher looking.
