Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 VC

i have done pretty much research...i think 17-55mm out win tammy is the USM ... as for focusing accracy both the same??

so does it mean canon focus faster than the tammy? tammy with vc cost 900++ and canon 1.5++ about 600 difference...

Focusing accuracy depends if your tammy have front or back focusing issue. Mine seems to be fine (jus a tad off) and its acceptable for me.

As for focusing speed, I find mine to be reasonable but I've had no experienced with the canon lens so I can't tell. Most importantly, I'm not spoilt by super fast focusing lens before (eg 70-200 vr 2.8 etc) so its turning out to be a very positive experience for me.

i got the non vc version but quite interested in this as i am taking indoor shots, the little help from VC will really improve quite alot on my side!

If you're talking about still life... yes, I believe it will help you a lot! I usually shoot in low light with a 35mm f1.8 and truth be told, very often I had to shoot with speeds like 1/10 or 1/8 even with iso at 800 to 1000 for my D90 and shots are often blurred. With VC, I can shoot at that kind of settings with more non blurred shots and the feeling is fantastic!

I can't explain in words and I suggest you go down to a shop and test it out yourself. Pretty sure you'll be hooked. :)

Hey bros.. which shops offer the cheapest via payment of VISA? The ones I called up doesnt.. (John & OP)

Hi guys,

Got mine from OP for $980 at end '09, but there was a promotion on, Tamron was giving away $40 worth of NTUC vouchers. So that went to grocceries.

As for sharpness, pretty happy with my copy. And tested it for the BF/FF issues using the focus 21 test template that can be printed out from the Net. No issues. And have taken close to 5000 shots with it.

IMHO, this is a really quality value-for-money lens.

Hi Everyone,

Just wondering did anyone bought this new VC version of Tamron recently?? Whats the model name and serial number for your lens??

Example model name (B005XX) and serial number (00XXXX)...??
