wow it still very sharp, really tempting me to sell my non vc for a vc. but i must tahan. seriously non vc is already much better than my kit lens :)

Hi devilcup,

I think if you have the non-vc version no point changing it,but if 1st timer i shall say go ahead with the VC version.

VC really helps when it comes to low light handheld shooting situation. I can handheld to about 1/5 to 1/10 and still get sharp picture which i couldn't get from my non-vc version.

If your non-vc is a sharp copy, upgrading to VC won't see much different unless you need the extra stops in low light handhelding with the VC version. :)

yes it is for cropped body :)

Di II lens is same meaning as DX lens so yes designed for use with DX bodies(cropped) but you can still use it for FX bodies like D700 but need to switched down to DX mode (1.5x crop) and thus lower resolution(5mp) hence not as good if you blow the photo to bigger size.

wow the pictures are very sharp and crisp!

I wonder how come some say that the VC is not as sharp as the non-VC ?

Hi guys,

a few more test shots with my SB600..

When it's at 2.8, it will be slightly softer compare when it is at 4 and above because of the dof. It's noticeable when you take photos with wordings. :)

Thank bro for the explanation.... how about if it is just to view on PC monitor or blow up to no larger than 4R??? ..... Acceptable u think??

Actually I'd used it on my D700 & the color is warmer (nicer) & contrast better than even 50f1.4 or Tammy28-75. I'm keeping it full time on my D90 now. The 5mp resolution is more than sufficient for viewing on PC screen & when I blow it up to 100% I can't really see any much diff except the FF file size is 5mp(more pixels & larger) & DX file 2mp(smaller).

Hi Everyone,

i am a little confused with this lens....

can it Auto Focus with D40X? I asked some bros in this forum and they say it can. However when i checked on the Tamron website it says that it requires Nikon with in-built AutoFocus...

can some one enlight me?

btw, i am going to HK soon... i was told that the price is around HK$4000 = S$760....
worthwhile?

yes it is worth it provided it is 1 yr international warranty

Yes, it is with BIM as written here

Buy from HK is definitely cheaper if you get the real stuff but Warranty only 1 yr whereas in SG it is 3 yrs by JEL so you decide:devil:

thanks, i will buy it in HongKong... i think it is about S$200 cheaper than buying it here....
