that's great but not surprising as it should be able to give you a quality shot like that. what i mean is you should get what you pay for. since the specs are pro-end, it should give pro-end results despite the price.
not to pour cold water or anything, it will be more accurate to see a 100% crop of the critical focusing point (the child's eye) in order to assess the lens fully.
i am waiting for the tamron version to make a comparison before deciding. no hurry but tamron seems to be in no hurry to release the nikon version yet. :dunno: i wonder why?
