if you're lucky, you'll get one salesman who bothers to try to match the price..
the 1st salesman I met at the shop, didn't bother to bargain with me, the second one was more willing to bargain..

It is not solely dependent on luck, but rather the cost of the product. A sales business can only go so low in terms of price, due to the cost price that they get the products from suppliers at. Tell me, which salesperson will make a huge loss just to match the price? They have to survive, have to earn a living, have to pay for rent, and have to bring in new stocks also.

Chances are, if anyone is willing to match the price, their source of the product is questionable, ditto the validity of the warranty. It is most likely that they have imported a grey set (i.e. not a set received through Tithes Marketing, the distributor for Tamron in S'pore).

hey there isn't a 17-50 with motor for Canon Mount!? :(

The Canon variant already has a motor in it, right from the start. Unless you can name me an EF mount autofocus lens that has no motor in it, we shall continue to believe that all Canon mount lenses, third party or otherwise, have motors in them.
