[SunChasersSG] Newbies Outing (Part 19) - Lower Seletar Sunrise 25-09-10 (photos)

Yeah man.. me and Albert both agreed the old wooden platform was way better

Don't know why they would like to replace with new plastic like platform..

Plastic ones are cheaper, and will last longer than the wooden ones. And it floats better and seems more stable. And since they are more stable, they can be longer too. From a canoeing standpoint, the plastic ones are way better....

But from a photographers standpoint, they are butt ugly... And being longer, makes it a lot harder to frame. And being white color, it does not contrast with the morning colors well.

There goes my favorite sunrise spot...:cry::cry:

We will never ever be able to get pictures like this again...

Was quite disappointed with today lighting that i dumped most of my shos into the archieves except for these two.. :embrass:

I like this one. Was this taken where you placed your tripod into the water?

Well, count yourself lucky that you've bagged at least one shot with a beautiful sunrise... the rest of us can slap our heads for not being there earlier! We can now only enjoy your wooden bridged version from the screen. :)

Agreed, wooden bridge gives a rustic feeling that the plasticity one's can't... heck when I saw it at first I thought wah....are they selling fishies there?

Bro, seen your photos recently. Look kinda soft to me. Did you focus correctly?

hey jeffrey...

the first one looks kinda soft... what settings? or focus wrong?
but the color and the composition oso not really exciting.. maybe B&W would bring out more 'feel' like some of the others have changed their shots to B&W...

the second shot is nice.. but is the dimensions that throw me off.. not really portrait crop neither is it landscape crop... which makes it look weird.. try playing around with the cropping of the original and see what brings out the subject best~! no right or wrong.. but just try lor..

hope you don't mind me always commenting on ur shots~! ;)

Is a pity that the sky is very cloudy and hazy yesterday morning.

My homework for this outing .. Output of not too nice lighting + newbie skill photo

Thanks for dropping by. Me also find it soft don't know why. #1 I focus on the bridge and #2 I focus on the building. Both setting at 13s at f/16 & ISO 100. How can i make it better?? :)

Wow, you managed to hide the plasticiness of the bridge! Salvaged the area for future shoots! And the sun, red enough! I like this one.

Hey Jeffrey, You pics are ok. Not soft. It was quite a hazy morning. ;)

Can I check with your is it UWA lens got the photo will be more shape then stander lens???

Thanks for dropping by. But why other photo look not soft?? How they do it?? :dunno::confused::think:

actually, everyone's pics look sort of hazy also if you look closely.

One way to minimize that hazy look is to increase contrast a bit.
