i like this actually... have a preference for more "modern" looking things. thought the jetty also stood out more.

well, to each his own! :)

Hello Uncle JimJo,
here's a 16x9 crop to remove the tire.

16x9:

you could leave the tyre, and crop the top away. :)

if you're going to clone the tyre, you can try a 16:9 with the bottom left starting with the reflection of the pontoon - its diagonal exactly at the corner.

it is quite a hard choice here, there is no perfect or "best" answer. i like the sky, but you will have to accept a split frame if you leave it in. the question you have to ask yourself is - is the sky compelling enough to accept the detrimental characteristic of a 50-50 result? there are countless compelling compositions, but which one fits YOU the most, while having quite some merit to the general majority, that is something you have to answer yourself. it is like purchasing a camera actually....... when you oversimplify everything.

you seem to tend to consider every single suggestion given to you.. when you start out, you can do it... but think, think, think. visualise, at the end of the day, you should be aiming to be able to previsualise the end goal when you are making the shot , i.e. shoot to crop, rather than shoot first, talk about end product later. once again, the thought process makes a lot of difference - you will get stronger images, more often.

well in any case, i thought this was your best image so far. (from this outing, anyways)

Hi Manita

Was a bit confused about your numbering system. The numbering of photos is so that we can discuss, we can identify which photo is being discussed. Having an earlier #1 and a later #1, I felt this could follow the next number rather than a re-use.

Sometimes when I process the same photo twice, I may call one #1A and the other #1B. That should differentiate them.

:) just a thought.

Hello Uncle Wildcat,
Yes, I understand now. Will do that in future posts :)

Hello Uncle Night86mare,
sorry for late reply cause I had oral exam this whole week. I do understand most of what you are writing by checking the dictionary because your english so powerful. So difficult understand. So, the only thing I don't understand here is what a split frame is. :dunno:

split frame = 50-50 composition, where the horizon is right smack at the middle of the frame. Not very desirable unless you are trying to show perfect symmetry (in reflections)

Aiya!!! HOW CAN I BE SO STOOOOPID? Hi Uncle Albert! How are you?
