Black Dimension

4 Image HDR/DRI 10 image panorama to relief right side spatial tightness using ND 0.9 for smoothed water effect. Art Science Museum @ Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

Rarely do I give heavily post-processed black and white finish to my photos unless something interesting to convey but I'll probably let this pass. ;) Was expecting some good sunrise but got a firework display of clouds on the Eastern side instead.

Technically, I'm still trying to find ways to include the higher most parts of the stairs as seems a little tight and somewhat visually heavy. Will probably try to combine both Vertorama and Panorama next time when I visit the Museum again with better sunrise to see if this works out to emulate similar effects of a Tilt Shift lens.

this is going to be entertaining.

Seriously can we stop this nonsense please. If there is plagiarism going on or any copying blah blah, can we just let the people involve to resolve it ON ANOTHER THREAD or privately

Its just super petty stuff. You copied mine and I copied yours yada yada.

We are on this forum to enjoy the art of photography. Take it somewhere else if have to please.

just ban both of them. knn still in kindergarten ?

well well well... have our Mr Originator ran out of ideas?

original composition:

hmm and it seems Mr Originator never credit people for their original composition while he insist others to do so?

and ExiF don't lies.

For this well honestly, I've never seen his recent works. Just because the date's the same or earlier doesn't mean I "looked" at his. If only the EXIF can prove my mind of not seeing others' then that'll be a great feature. Right now, there's only one thing that concern me when I'm out shooting - just enjoy it.

Well I guess that was me a year ago. I admit I used to be on the dark side. Since I acted like a total ass of myself. Things changed, and soon you kinda get the nature of photography. I always think that photography is just like creating music. Then when I see someone with similar tune I "attacked" them. Or maybe it was just a misunderstanding, or a bad choice of words. Please don't quote me but admit if I must, I'm not really good with words. Well it's definitely not the first time people hit me back for the things I've said, but I know I don't mean to accuse anybody or anything like that. And Back then, I was an over-sensitive jerk... Well, I guess who am I to complain anyway. It was also the first time I've posted photography on the net - Clubsnap in this case. And I just started some "serious" photography and first attempt to showcase them on a forum. I didn't know the realisations of the ability of taking the same POV is not a crime. A friend of mine also told me quite sometime back - it's OK to take the same tune over again even though someone else has done it. Maybe back then I wasn't used to Photography culture.

No doubt he is good but he is "sick", very "sick" as he always had the mindset ppl is stealing his composition and getting very paranoid over this.
Well if you have to know, I'm suffering from a mild form of OCD and GAD. And that "paranoid" is over a year ago. I admit I was a jackass - But if people can change over time and realise the error of their ways, I think it's not a problem to put this ordeal behind us.

Well honestly, it's the opposite these days - When I see someone with "similar" views, I feel happy. I feel, there's this sense of joy. That someone out there "appreciates" your works. Honestly, there are alot of my works that aren't original. (Yes, quote me if you must) If there weren't sunrises at Sembawang taken by others I wouldn't have headed there to explore. If there weren't Sunsets and Sunrises at Changi taken by others I wouldn't have been there too. And God forsake me if it weren't for Google Earth I wouldn't have looked around for more places. It's these things that thought me to look around and kinda explore these places of interest. Just recently I saw Jon Chiang's recent works in Tuas and edutilos' and here's a the truth - I feel glad. It doesn't really matter if people took the same tree, foreground interest, POV of whatever, and they don't "credit" me, I feel glad because there are people out there exploring these areas, finding hidden beauty in places of uncommon interest like I do too. I think that's the whole idea of photography. I appreciate them for that. They have their joy which is something to share about and the whole World is ought to know.

And here's the thing; ironically my GF also accused me of "stealing" her angles at Ang Mo Kio. Even though it was just a pure coincidence I looked at Google Earth and waited for the best sunpath. Following which I saw good works from fellow photogs like Draken413o, GRBenji, edutilos of the same POV of the AMK sunset, I thought to myself - those renditions are absolutely amazing.

Right now, I'm not here to start an argument, start a fight of who's original or who's not. Right now, I just want to post what I have taken recently. All I want to do, is just to go to more places around Singapore. If people want to shoot the same POV or composition or angle, I'd say the hell with that stupid credit crap and just go for it. You like my works and wish to do the same, thanks. And if I like YOUR works, and I wish to do the same, I'd do the same.

What I've said in the past, I've said. And I'm sorry.

PS I heard this weekend the tides will be really low in the mornings and evenings. ;)

Hey Stefan! I heard that you are a sick man. Well, I might as well be sick! I bought filters today 1 0.9 GND, 1 0.9 ND and a Lee foundation kit. I'm already sick and tired of waiting. The price though almost got me sick, 400+. Told you I will buy it after 2 months? Well I can't, because the BBB virus made me sick....

Hi Stefan,

We had shared our thoughts earlier. Every photographer does want to have an original viewpoint, but to me, this is a bonus and there is nothing wrong in revisiting a "tired" angle. After all, Shenton Way from Esplanade Waterfront is still beautiful, and no one can deny that! I am glad that you seem to understand where I'm coming from and thanks for sharing some of the unique viewpoints that you have uncovered or rediscovered in Singapore. Photography *is* about photographs, and I think it's great that you try your best to give a fresh take (I'm sure we all are, in one way or another). In any case, I've always felt that you are a great photographer but (can't avoid the cliche, sorry) you are also your greatest enemy - lighten up! Keep shooting (and posting)!

ok good to hear you have "repent" your thoughts. good for you.

but hope you can influence your "followers" to think like you now and ask them to stop attacking people's thread.

as i have said in edutilos- thread, singapore is god damn small, if u want unique angles u had to start shooting before anyone else here is born or even way back. cos there is no such thing as unique angles in singapore anymore sooner or later.

want unique angles? go out of singapore more often, its a big jungle out there for u to cover.

Hey Mate!!! Glad to see you've decided to pull the trigger and buy the ever expensive Lee filters!! We're all sick sometime or rather, especially with cash. That's the downside man, photography is an expensive hobby. :( Gotta work off my debts. :bsmilie: So have you tried walking around and using it?

Hi Stefan,

We had shared our thoughts earlier. Every photographer does want to have an original viewpoint, but to me, this is a bonus and there is nothing wrong in revisiting a "tired" angle. Hey edutilos, long time no see too. =) Hope you're doing fine. I will still try to find "unique" angles in my own way - (The enjoyable way of course) it's something that I really just enjoy finding the POV just like finding Waldo. :bsmilie: I will keep searching, and even if turns out to be purely coincidental with someone else's, I'd say the heck with it - Because I like it. hahaha... Photography is also about the photographer too! Thanks for your kind words dude! Oh and if there's one thing that I have to "steal" and it's this. *Drools. I. MUST. Have.... This!!! This POV is just magic. Anyway, thanks for your dropping by man!!! =)

but hope you can influence your "followers" to think like you now and ask them to stop attacking people's thread.

Followers??? The heck? Am I like Steve Jobs to them? Since when I had followers?? Sorry if I sounded shock, but I rarely travel around the forums of Clubsnap other than here. :( Seriously. It's just photography. Then again I've seen worst cases especially in dpreview and POTN. There's even a guy suing another photog in court for following the same angle. I had an epic 1x facepalm to forehead.

I wish I could travel the World and see what else that I've been missing. All I need is Time and Money. Anyways, nontheless thanks for the share man! :)

Total Mess

5 Image HDR/DRI using GND 0.9 soft + GND 0.6 hard + ND 0.9 for smoothed water effects. Punggol Beach, Singapore.

It's that time of the month again where the tides are extremely low. I thought I've decided to head down to Punggol Beach and see what I can spot there for a sunrise. Rocks were everywhere.
