YOUR SKILL IS AS SHARP AS YOUR LENS!

If you think otherwise, then perhaps your lens is not sharp enough to match your skill.

Haha, Thanks... But I guess both gear and skill are important. :)

The Fast Lane

3 Image HDR/DRI 4 image panorama to relief spatial tightness using 2x ND 0.9 stacked to achieve 6 stops for smoothed traffic effects. Upper Cross Street, Singapore.

More explorations of that area yield more street views of Chinatown. Took more upcoming similar views around the vicinity as well.

This is also probably my new thing for photography as well - Street Level shooting!

My Lazy Morning

3 Image HDR/DRI 3 image panorama using GND 0.9 + Lee Big Stopper for smoothed water effects. Sembawang Beach, Singapore.

One of those nice mornings - away from all troubles and fears, and apprehensions that delude life, a kind of shot that explains what I went through lately.

To Be Free

4 Image HDR/DRI using GND 0.9 soft + CPL filter for higher tonality of the skies. Tuas South, Singapore.

I've been waiting for the longest time to be there. To the edge of Singapore to see the sun go down. A personal symbol of satisfaction in my photography that defines my freedom - far, far away from all apprehension, anxiety, doubt, trials, hate, aggression, melancholia and obsessive thoughts that run in the course of my mind. A definite place to be alone with my thoughts and capture inner beauty in solitude.

#53 definitely oozes the feeling of detachment which city dwellers need.

like it very much. :)

Thanks man, still trying to find such places in Singapore. Shoot them, or before it's too late the Government and developers alike take them away. :(

This Place, This Time

5 Image HDR/DRI using GND 0.9 soft grad. Tone mapped in Nik Software for slightly higher tonality of the ground. Tuas South, Singapore.

Final shot from Tuas that evening. Had a few more others, but I felt this one expresses about my psychedelic, current state of self, more so than the rest.

Quite some time ago, I still remembered the words a fellow landscape enthusiast once told me, that Tuas is a "complete waste of transport and time to recce and visit", and has totally nothing interesting to capture. "I've been there a couple of times. Trust me, you're wasting your time".

Frankly after heading there, I think Tuas is a great place to capture amazing sunsets.

Somewhat similar composition as applied with one of my previous shots last year in Sembawang: Immensity | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

My Time Has Yet To Come

5 Image HDR/DRI using GND 0.9 soft + CPL filter for higher tonality of the skies. Tuas South, Singapore.

I was thinking hard whether to upload this shot, as from thumbnail view in my Windows Explorer didn't look appealing. I've decided to give it a go and it doesn't seem all bad.

I actually wanted to use the Lee Big Stopper for extremely smoothed cloud effects for I observed their fast movements to achieve something similiar to this: Into The Fire | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

But the direction in which the clouds were moving towards North (Which is the right from this POV) did not choreograph towards the sunset and tree and thus might create contradicting movements in my intended composition. Will wait and come again for the winds to blow Eastwards :)

Tuas is almost as appealing as Sembawang Stateland, it's just a matter of time before they're all gone, making way for industrial and light rail services in the near future.

Glamour

3 Image HDR/DRI Sepia + Cross Balance post-processing. ION Orchard, Singapore.

I didn't want total monotone/black and white processing for this shot, as ION Orchard to me is dynamic, alive, yet slick. Retained the original yellow lightings and mild blue tone post-processing to harmonise to this theory.

Like mirrors, the tile's reflections creates a spatial and "hardness" relief, between foreground to background establishment. Literally also creates a "road" towards indulgence, sin, fame and glamour; a reflection of one's life away from the norms (matte tiles) of his used-to-be boring lifestyle.

Took me a while to walk around this place, and reflect in deep thought. I know it has been photographed by thousands of budding photographers, so as my usual concious self tells me, what is different between mine and theirs, and what about this place that means to me? Seems like a weak link to play with post-processing and colour, but the heck with it. :) Shoot and enjoy the moment.

Chocolate Bar [Reprise]

5 Image HDR/DRI 2 image stictched panorama to relief left side spatial tightness using GND 0.9 + Lee Big Stopper for smoothed cloud and water effects. Sembawang Beach, Singapore.

This is kinda the third shot of the same, POV as my previous'. Was there a little late, had some errands to run during the day. Took only this shot and that's just about it. Wanted to visit the left side of Sembawang but time was against me. Heard the tide level was a wooping 0.3m low.

quite respect sunrise shooters, cause' i can never get up on time to catch the rising sun.

LOL, thanks. Don't worry, there are times I chose to "nua" at home instead. hahaha. Anyway for me, I quite respect people who shoot nearly everyday. :bsmilie: Just how did they find the time?  Hmm.... Time management.

ahaha, i've this one place in mind for sunrise but i procrastinated for months and now the sun had shifted quite a bit out of my intended composition. guess i've to wait another few more months for the right compo again. :(

true that, kudos to those who can churn out photos everyday, really good time management.

for me, i only shoot during saturdays as sunday is family day.

i dislike shooting on weekdays as i never favour the idea of rushing from place to place.

oh well, different people, different styles.

Same here, I still can shoot, but on weekdays, it's back to camp. :( Unless if I apply for off or leave. haha.

Hmm... What is this place in mind? Taneh Merah? I had thoughts about surveying the place there. I heard in December period it'll be quite stellar to go there.

weekdays aka workdays are tiring for me to shoot anything, haha.

to be honest, i've not really explore the east side of singapore.

really too lazy to get up, esp on weekends when i can get some body maintenance going. :bsmilie:

being nsf is good, sometimes i miss those times too. :)
