Awesome man.
I am inspired to get a ND400 now to try out this!
Keep shooting keep posting!haha Cheers

Hi, Thomas, no more long exposure? Nice pics but these feel less minimalistic to me. :)

Hi JT, lastest series was like more on seascape actually cause I just find a little time to visit the beach and was a quick one cause typhoon hit the coast right after reaching there...so, would say only couple of shots were taken...not much...

I was the only outing after so long in Shz.....like said, all work but no play......:(

Thank you for dropping by and support my friend! :)

Very cool stuff, very serene. I like them!

Great series! Luv it! :)

Thanks JellyBelly & phantasia...:)

Hey, nice work you have here. If you intend to have minimalistic shotting as your style, perhaps you need to try something else (by that i mean subjects and locations). Minimalistic style does not equate something-jutting-out-of-water-&-pulled-over-long-shutter-and-converted-into-b&W. Try to use some greens, huge spaces, selective lighting to isolate your subjects...may get different results. =)

saw the pictures from behind to front. the coastal shots are a little repetitive but like those in front (i do like the colored one more though)... but most of these shots are not too representative of spore. if you can find shoots in the urban settings and try to make them simple, i think there may be more fulfilments

em... isn't the title s'pore?

OH thank you for dropping by and the comment. all work done on coastal and reservoir for time being and yet to explore more on the land, sky and etc..am trying to train my eyes in isolating things and as for current moment, working with sea/water is easier to isolate the subject prior to shooting urban...

Well, I did mentioned that was not in spore lately and manage to squeeze sometime to do a little photographing at the other side and try not to create a new thread and might as well post it here in the same thread for sharing as the subject is still on 'minimal'..

if you think that the images does not belongs to spore; in this case, ill can just remove the last couple of the images taken outside spore and create another thread for it or perhaps the whole thread as its not representing spore which more on urban, like what you said...savvy?! let me know your thoughts..

Cheers!

Thank you for dropping by and commenting....i strongly agree with ur term of minimalistic style!

As for the moment, am working mostly that involve waters which much more easier for me to train myself in isolating stuff....and i think so far it works better for me and not sure bout you...

All the work is done in colors and just that i prefer it in MONO. if you like color, i can post the color ones just for you....let me know yea!

Am not sure about 'Try to use some greens, huge spaces, selective lighting to isolate your subjects', perhaps you could explain more....why selective lightings? shadows and lighting? why not you share your work for reference and would really love to learn from it....

Cheers!

thomas, for 16 left, were you at your maximum possible focal length? that pile of three rocks on the right side of the photo, 1 big 2 small.. would make for beautiful minimalism if you go closer.

Thank you WK for dropping by!

For #16, not at maximum focal length. am using 70mm to shooting as wanted to get a panorama kind of image out of the 2 shots.

Yep, agree with you on the 1big 2small rocks..did a little simulation with my current images and it works well..thank you for the heads up!

Also, kinda rushing to get it done as rain starts pouring and was rushing to get it done....:)

Will definately visit this place again on my next visit...

Taken yesterday at Lower Seletar Reservoir and increase the exposure to isolate main subject from water and land....

What do you guys think? C+C please! Cheers!

Thomas, this looks like uneven barcode, though I like the idea, but leaving the water in the pic will be my preference.
