Thank you Lawrence for the usual support and motivating words...:)

Cheers!

It is amazing where you found these subjects. and your uncanny subject title that match the pictures' shapes.

i'm diggin yr minimalist + monochrome style rather than full throttle color (dramatic). one of the easy way to improve ourself is to compare against the best and these two are some of my favs.

their books are very exp(MKenna), bought a copy but really worth it.
here we can study their style, vision and execution but we are not trying to copy/duplicate his work. novice vs master....no comparison.

Yes, agree with you on learning their vision but disagree with style and execution as every individual have their own way in portraying their work...

I have been looking to many excellent B+W photographers, be it minimal, night shooting and long exposure and their work is mesmerizing and everyone have their own way in doing their work....here below is few of my favurites...

1. Håkan Strand

2. Josef Hoflehner

3. Joel Tjintjelaar

4. Michael Kenna

5. Michel Rajkovic

For sure there is no comparison to them cause like said, they are the master and am just an amatuer still trying to learn how they look at things through their viewfinder! ;)

maybe unintentional but yr "good monday" and this image
http://www.josefhoflehner.com/louisiana/08.html
have a ton of similarity...this is what i mean.
yr is v. good but ppl will always remember the original:)
like it or not, our work will always be compared against the.....not a critism but just a food for thought(to myself esp)

Thanks you for the comment and i understand what you mean..:)

Frankly, am pretty happy that you does notice that the 'good monday' have similiarity to Josef's work...am flattered..:sticktong

Ppl never stops comparing among each other and this makes an individual improve themselve which shows a pretty good sign actually.... if we take it on the positive side...:)

Cheers Kae!

michael kenna is a favourite.

1) denis olivier

2) martin stawiarz, some may know him as angelreich on DA

some recent discoveries on flickr:

not all of them have pure minimal bnw streams, but there are some that are really worth looking at, and most of them have nice streams. ;)
