you might want to leave ur name with the shops? try Click.

Thanks bro. Yea, I did the check the stock availability like a week ago and I even went down to Sony Wisma and the salesman said new stock would be coming in January.

I just happened to open the thread today to check the new replies and wonder if anybody got any luck at some small shops or whatever. And yea, people sometimes just make assumptions that the one who asked the question must be too lazy to do anything. I actually have seen a few times that such a question was fired by others, but some members are kind to offer some useful comments. Relax people, the question doesn't bother you that much, does it? If yes, I apologise and I'll shut up then. Cheers.

Still only a rumour, but not unexpected, a mirrorless full frame from Sony may be available in 2014. Sony did it with the R1 and never followed up with a R2. The pricing for the R1 was something like $2.5K and sales was not fantastic. However, the R1 had a fantastic lens and took great images that most DSLRs could not match at lower ISO. With the RX1, the price point is much higher but far more usable relative to the R1 so it may still be a better camera and I think is likely to sell better. But still, I don't think that the RX1 will be followed up with a RX2 and will likely to be one of a kind.

Sony rumored to be developing full-frame mirrorless camera, release could come in 2014

I don't think the RX1 and R1 have anything in common.

It's very funny how you people reply to another person here (although I'm not the one who ask that qns). But it really brought me to some attention that you guys are spoiling the community here. Isn't what we are suppose to share and ask about RX1?

It's just a (silly, I agree) question but you can just choose to ignore it. That guy/gal DID NOT ask anyone here to call up the shop to check, he/she just generally ask if anyone happened to know or just buy it, simple as that.

If you hate to see people posting such qns, just shut up and ignore, or let the moderator settle it, if you want to help, reply people nicely. U are not the boss here.

Talk less, go shoot more if you have receive your RX1. And merry Xmas

Now now kiddies. Let's play nice.

Call the shops and ask. We are not you concierge service

This is just plain rude! If you don't know or dont like to answer the Q, just ignore. Why say words like these? As a more experienced user, you should be more helpful to others.

I don't care about post count. Just rude lazy people annoy me.

Just to say something in fairness, since when did others expressed rude behaviour when they asked questions that you deem "you should search CS or Google first or call up the relevant shops". If you say they are lazy, I may still give it to u. But even lazy is a harsh word to use. The fact that they ask already proved otherwise. It's not like they just hang around in the forum saying nth and really waiting for ppl to provide details, price list, whatnot...

You, among other veterans, keep preaching about searching the forum before asking. I know you are an expert in this technical field and there's no need for u to search for information, but before u preach, take a look at how user-unfriendly the search function is. Not that they are not gd per se, but because of ppl like you who keep posting rebuttal stuffs like this, a 1000 post thread probably only contain 20 post that has information that ppl are looking for. Of course, I'm not saying only you are at fault. People who tend to kopitiam-ise serious discussion threads, TSs who put misleading titles etc are all responsible. So instead of preaching search function in CS, we should reflect how this community do things here. See, even I have to write this here to put my point across, when it's a RX1 thread. Also, how updated the stickies are?

Searching on Google? Not all is as smart as u to know where to get specific answers for their specific question. That's what the forum is for.

Lazy? Have you not, in a social convention setting, asked anyone for a favour before, even a simple one? Asking if anyone had the price of smth here, is like saying "hey, you going there to get some food? Can you help me get a drink as well, if your hands aren't full?" Seriously I see nothing wrong here. If CS terms and conditions forbids things like this, I dunno what to say.

If you don't care about post count, don't post. If u are not happy with newbies asking what u deem as stupid questions, report the posts and let mods do the rest. The mere act of posting "scolding" posts just make this forum user-unfriendlier, as I mentioned earlier. Would appreciate your support in this matter.

And if you are not happy with the state of matter, I don't know why you still lurk around here. You are already an expert here, you don't need inputs from others here already. And since you are not willing to help others here (even though sometimes others may be perceived as wanting to be spoonfed), why stay here and scold ppl and increase post counts which in turn make this forum unbearable for others?

I apologise if u feel that I'm making a personal attack. I'm just making an objective statement, though I quoted u for example.

Cheers.

chill guys, and perhaps get back to main topic :)
my personal opinion regarding the RX1

Like:
1. Performance (sensor. lens and ISO)
2. Compactness
3. Quietness (the leaf shutter is fantastic)

Dislike:
1. Price, Price, Price
2. Price, Price
3. Price

It's not perfect, but the top 3 pros is enough for me.

cheers.

maybe the forum should be split into 2 factions.

1) Newbies and enthusiast - where pros are denied access. Newbies share and care.
2) Pros and senior members - where post clockers and Pros impress each other and need not put up with 'stupidity' as they deem.

Back to real genuine questions about the RX1. What are the flash with TTL options for it? I know there is the HVL-F60M, but are there smaller options? Must have TTL, not single pin auto.

I'm looking for flash options for my nex6 as well. Not many now, but I'm sure they are developing. In the meantime, it will have to be adapters and the older Minolta mount flashes :(

And another for trollers, who enjoy post clocking by feeling self-righteous for targeting senior members. :-)

Yup, no small native flashes yet. Which is a pity, you'd have thought they would be smart enough to launch a more complete ecosystem

Life here should not be so complicated. Just simply ask and answer politely. Graciousness must prevail and I personally believe that one is never too old or experience to ask and to learn. There should be unity for the love of this unique hobby that I fall in love with many times over for the last 45 years. So, let's all be positive, gracious, and contribute for the good of this community. Merry Christmas to all and God bless.

sure why not? Senior members who troll and target newbies very invited too : )

"All I want for Christmas is an RX1"

I have 3 sons and I hope they can hear my prayer.

Life is about learning, developing, sharing and giving back to the community for the cycle to begin once again. After all the doom and gloom, let's ask ourselves what we want to achieve in this fantastic hobby, what gears we want, how we can be a better photographer, and how, when we have learnt, can we reciprocate.
