Reading too fast may not be a good thing especially when it is not clearly written that there's no IS for still photography... just an omission that there is IS.Most people can read pretty fast.
Then there is user expectation. I have owned tons of Sony cameras over the years from all kinds of P&S to NEX to SLTs to RX and all of them have IS in one form or another. Not in a million years would I have expected Sony to decide to omit IS in their latest ultimate top-of-the-line and state-of-the-art P&S camera. I had therefore automatically expected that the RX1 would have IS and completely missed that 'feature' when I read the specs. That's why I was so shocked and surprised to read here that it actually doesn't. Luckily I had not bought one already and then found out that it does not have IS. Now I definitely will not buy it... I would happily give up the chance of owning one to those who do not need IS in their cameras.
