Any recommended shops that still have have Nex 6 with decent freebies? Called MS Color, they don't know when stock will be coming in.

It's hard to find a store that doesn't have them in stock and pretty much all stores have the same freebies.

Not sure if you can buy those lenses locally. The only place where I saw the 400mm one in stores was Japan.
Can you recommend one available in Singapore? I need a reason to visit SBWR again.

Focusing speed oon the NEX-6 will definitely not be as fast as the A900. As for control-wise, having a single dial on the NEX-6 won't be as usable (to me) at least, as compared to the NEX-7

Is this based on your user experience or what you read? I'm quite apprehensive of taking the plunge cos it's over a $1000... I haven't spend that kind of money on cameras since I paid for the A900... pawned all I had for that one...

For the NEX-7, the double dial at the top is confusing to me to say the least... I already get confused by the front and back dials in A mode on the A900 at times... can't remember what is for what function... can't remember what I assign sometimes...

I'm not looking for identical user experience as the A900, but more of not having to menu dive lar... I dislike that the most when I use a point and shoot and need to do exposure compensation or change aperture or ISO on the fly. Cos it makes me miss shots or windows of opportunity when people don't get in the way of what I want to shoot...

NEX 6 dun really need to menu dive for most things. Most things are just one or two clicks away. Once u customise, you are set. Just a matter of getting used to it.

Nex7 definitely makes changing settings on the fly a breeze. Its not hard to remember what the dials are for. The left one for shutter speed , right one for aperture and the back circle for ISO.

Nex6 will work more like a single dial DSLR , and buttons that are customisable for settings changes.

Generally, we do not need to go into menu if we got all the customised buttons setup.

AF speed on nex7 definitely loses out to DSLR like A900 and the new slt. But its still considered fast on its own. The nex6 AF should perform at the nex7 level. I only had a chance to try it at Wisma with the 55-200mm lens, which isnt a good lens to test the af. It hunts a bit on that lens, but still considered fast for normal use.

hi if i buy from MS color or cathay photo.. will there be a PWP for the extra battery or other lens which sony is giving?

I guess you mean the 55-210mm, there is no 55-200mm. Did the 55-210mm have the firmware update for PDAF?

If u buy the dual kit, the SEL55210 that comes with it is already v2 (PDAF capable).

Thanks for the correction. Not sure though, as the lens was attached to the demo unit heh. I will do a check if I m there again Cheers

What has that to do with my question? ;)

Oh, I think I read wrongly. Then again, if the demo unit lens has PDAF, it's quite easily seen on the screen :)

Yeah, was thinking of buying one too.

On another note, anyone getting external flash for your nex6? Would like some opinions.

Are you getting the new hvl-f60 to fit the new hotshoe?

Or are u getting the adapter to use the older Minolta mount flashes?

I personally don't have the budget for both. Also think those full sizes flash, plus adapters is going to make the weight really unbalanced...

Was looking at the YN-460ii as a gd alternative, but the downside is no TTL.

Any suggestions?

I think the fundamental question is ... do you need a flash gun and for what purpose ? If the answer is yes and you are clear of what to use it for , then its just a matter when to buy it.

if its just a good to have thought , my experience is , you will seldom use the flash gun after buying it.

Never consider the handly flash HVL-F20AM? It's pretty light and if you got friend in HK can get it for S$120.

How's the battery life you guys experienced?
One full charged can last you for how long, how many shots?
