Can just use any micro usb charger right ? That's what I used last night.. Camera didn't melt....

The one that courts sell. Is really not bad imo. I have not done an extensive test, but day to day usage, the courts batt perform as well as the original.
I also bought one from eBay. Can't rmb brand. Just by weight comparison (which is an empirical comparison of energy storage), Sony> courts> eBay...
I've not used the eBay batt extensively yet, but my initial impressions are not bad, at least for its price...
Just a note, from my observation, only the original batt can charge in-camera. The rest need external charger...

Well, I bought a ~$20 one which includes a 3rd party batt. Works fine.

It does... but why spend $40 on it? I got mine simple wireless remote from ebay for less than $5. Works the same
NEX-6 does not rotate photos like smartphones and tablets.
When you set this to "Auto", it basically rotates images taken in (Vertical) Portrait orientation so that it can be reviewed in on the LCD screen in Landscape orientation, without having you to rotate your camera to the side again.

Take the specs with a pinch of salt. The 3rd party batt is not going to last 1700/1080 times longer, but nonetheless they are worth a buy.
I've bought those generic rechargeable AA/AAA batteries that boasts high mAh, but are in fact crap.
bluff one... their capacity is nearly always over rated. in fact, if u can get the same mileage as stock battery, already tao chio liao. haha.
1 quick way to gauge the capacity is the weight. if their weight is similiar, then there's a good chance their capacity is close too.
$19 is expensive for third party from ebay. Is it branded third party battery eg pisen?
for comparison, i paid US$20 for a charger, and 2 x compatible batteries. US$20 is under S$25 bucks. price inclusive shipping. got it from ebay.
