Sony DSLT-A77 and 16-50 f/2.8 SSM hands-on review

I suggest you loosen up a notch. Jokes are meant to be jokes and nothing more. Only a 7-year-old won't know he is a grown man.
Smart way to let "Him" slip out the gender, but "he" is not taking it.

Nah. Look at the amount of newbies buying a 7D, or a D7000 kit, or even 5D MkII. There's a psychological aspect too... "More expensive means better".

Yeah, just find it awkward some of them use AUTO mode exclusively on these. And hang on their necks walking up & down Orchard road. I always tell my friend using an A55, be brave and use P,A,S,M as and when required. He wamted to switch to a Canon 600D because it's JPG looks nicer in AUTO. :bsmilie:

Sorry if I offended anyone but just have to take a dig at these people....... I think we OT too much from the thread.....

OT one last time. that's me in the picture ;)

I always prefer to "get-to-know" first.

Somebody feeling shy from all de attention (and in some cases more than just attention). But ya, let's get back to topic.

OK, is sony sg bring it A77?...

No reason they wont. It`ll be silly for them not to. A580 was an exception for various reasons discussed/debated long ago.

If MO no warranty rite? Should we wait for de official one?

Saw a Mainland reporter using one today at Comex. He was kind enough to let me molest it for a bit. As it was his working camera, didn't dare to play around with settings so just did a bit of handling test with it and the 16-50. Its a little lighter than I expected but nice and solid nonetheless. I've always been a fan of Nikon ergonomics and I'm afraid the A77 still loses out. The 16-50 was just a little too big so I felt a bit cramped between the base of the lens and the hand grip. Wish I had more time to play with it - October can't come too soon!

Just one question... How many continous shots can it do (before slowing down) at jpeg,12mp,12fps? :)

No lah !!! ...I'm referring to MO from official Sony Sg ...same as for the A55/A33 launch ! ...maybe should change the term 'MO' to 'Early bird special' ! ;)

For something which costs that much, no way I'm gonna risk not having warranty !

12MP? Still only about 14-15.

I don't know. i would think lower megapixel = smaller filesize = slightly higher fps.. Else, means i have serious misconception here..

Does it feel like a canon? Haha I really like the layout. But evf hard to swallow hahahah.

No thank goodness. It's actually comfy in the hands, unlike a Canon. But remember, ergonomics are subjective. ;)

As for the EVF, try it first. It has many pros and cons, and the VF size is about the same as an A900, not the small VF sizes we are used to from normal APS-C cameras.

ooo thanks! :D :D seems like i will give it a try before deciding to upgrade from a700 haha! but it somehow reminds me of canon 40d
