Brought the A77 and 1650 to Marina Barrage over the weekend with my kids.
EVF:
- Although even in manual mode with brightest level, it's still quite dim when used in very bright outdoor condition, although this is not much of issue to me.
- As it has live histogram, I can immediately see what i am going to get even before shooting, so when I shoot, I dun have to re-shoot many times to trial and error. Of course can always shoot RAW and adjust later, but as I am out just for family event and will shoot a lot of photos, I normally shoot JPEGs so that I dun have to spend too much time editing hundreds of photos later.
- With the EVF, I can view the photos I have taken as viewing the LCD under bright sunlight is very challenging. I saw many Canikon users there trying to peep through their LCD to see their shots taken and keep shooting and seeing to get the exposure right.
- I can take VIDEOs using the EVF!!! thats something cannot be done in any DSLRs at the moment.
AF:
- One word, FAST and accurate. I get about 99% correctly focused shots. With AFC and 12fps, I got all the shots of my kids running about.
Colours:
- In vibrant and portrait mode, I got many photos that are nice and correctly exposed (although need to dial +0.3EV most of time). Colors are vibrant and nice. I didn't really need to do any PP for immediate post.
That's about all now. Next purchase VG...
