Sony DSLT-A77 and 16-50 f/2.8 SSM hands-on review

One question. I just got my A77 with both 16gb Sony memory stick and a 32gb SD card.
Question is, which card will give me a better performance? I heard that MS is faster but I prefer the SD cos I can direct slot into my MacBook air and iPad for uploading.
Some advises please. Both not opened as I dun know which is better.

It depends also on the kind of MS and SD you got.

Depends on the model of the SD card and the MS card. Different models have different speeds, which are labeled on the package. It's not as simple as "MS vs. SD".

Again, what speeds? MS Duo and even SD cards come in numerous speeds.

MS packaging says up to 50mb/s and the Sandisk din feature it's speed on the packaging.

It would be listed on the card itself. Or go to SanDisk | Official Manufacturer of Flash Memory Cards for Imaging, Computing, Mobile, Music, and Gaming Devices and look up your exact card. But aside from the new 95mb/s SD cards, the 50mb/s MS Duo will be faster.

It's the standard SDHC card. The one which is blue in color. But never state the speed?

Oh. The blue ones are sloooooooooooow. Confirm your MS Duo will be about 5x faster.

Brand new they're about 60. So if you're lucky, maybe 30-40.

Your 16GB card is fine. Remember, your camera still has a buffer.

guys..ask u all..i am a noob in DSLT..I used the lens pen brush n cleaned my camera body mirror..in the end I made a slight scratch in the middle of the mirror..So stupid of me... so I am wondering will it affect the pictures?

Oh my!, i think this has been discussed before that the trnasulent mirror is not really a hard mirror but more like a think film.... so it's very sensitive to pressure =( so sorry to hear that your tranlucent mirror got scratched.

you could try shooting the sky at arounf f8-11 see if you could spot the scratch or affect the IQ... two things that could affect your IQ

1. It'll show to your pix
2. it'll cause flare...

BTW how bad is the scratch? just one hariline? or whole bunch of scartches???

Why should they do it for free? Maybe if they are really stupid.
