Brandon, i'm very disappointed in the way you conduct yourself in CS.

I didn't know that you are working for Sony, or either that, working for your own benefits at the expense of the members of CS. If you have not notice, this is already a group of members that are made up of Konica Minolta & Sony enthusiast.

I think that some clarification on my end is needed and i'm making it public here.

First of all, I dont work for SONY (ETTL can testify to that as he popped down to my office yesterday for the Lens Book), neither do I profit anything from connecting the A-mount users here to SONY. But please do tell what makes you think I'm working for them or profiteering from the initatives. I'm curious.

If that's anything I profit from this, it would be seeing a stronger community who will not only be able to share among ourselves, but also with the brand itself who has so far been quite supportive.

If your grouse here is forming 'another' group to represent A-mount users when there is already an existing pool of bros, well, let's just say that it's bringing it to another level. It has to start from somewhere and the call for volunteers prove that it is by no way biased. In fact, some of the bros who have come forth are relatively quiet in the forums. Should the committee be successfully formed, I will back down and will definitely not be involved.

Andrew, I'm disappointed that you chose to make public a private email but your disappointment is not my concern. The bros who were late in registering for the tee shirt and expressed their disappointment at not getting them - now, that's disappointment that I would personally take into consideration. FYI, SONY has now made available another 20 tees for those who missed the first cut. I will once again EMAIL to the bros on waiting list.

FYI again, my work revolves around forging partnerships with both corporate and commercial brands for the benefits of the members of my organisation (a close example would be SAFRA and their monthly social activities that they organise). SONY is one company that I work with in providing training and it so happens that I deal with Wilson. By the way, Wilson is not in charge of DSLR products per se, but the Digital Workshop.

As for the nature of the relationship in which I suspect you feel that we are being exploited by SONY for their own benefits, I disagree. We may have different viewpoints but I expect respect towards one another and the politeness to speak with the concerned one-on-one to clarify rather than going behind my back and making such irresponsible comment like you did.

All said and done, I will continue to push forward with what I feel I am doing right and while you are entitled to your own opinions, do keep them to yourself. After all, no one's forcing you to participate or contribute anything.

I didnt manage to get the T-Shirt during the last Botanical Gardens outing. Reno77 was supposed to collect for me but he couldnt make it last minute also. Was wondering if I could still get it now?

I don't know your intention, but why do you insist on having a separate group is beyond my comprehension.

Do note a few factors, i only question your purpose, you keep emphasizing on the benefits you guys can get in the email, how could i possibly think that you did out of goodwill? You sounded more like marketing sony to the group than actually trying to help the group.

From my point of view, your approach is too overwhelming.

1st, you offer the tee-shirt,
2nd, from collection of tee shirts become a sony marketing outing,
then 3rd, trying to create a group within the community separated from the original source.

How would you interpret if you are the admin or mod here?

I've seeked permission to use the clubsnap logo for the sole purpose of recognition for the A mount brothers to have a common tee, we have a previous thread in which we would like to get our own tee, on your kind gesture, which i applauded, you said you liased with Sony on the free tee, since most bros welcomed it, i think its fine. My worse nightmare happened, now Sony is getting the guys to parade in that tee with the clubsnap logo in your (1) in the email.

Have you actually asked the admins or mods or even discuss with us before you even wrote the email and send to the rest of the members? Do you actually respect the admins and mods in this section? You have breeched beyond what i would deem a normal member would do.

If you wish to carry on, please do not use any of Clubsnap's resources, and you are free to do anything you like anywhere else.

The reason why the committee was proposed is for us, as users, to speak up to SONY as a collective group and let them know what we would like from our standpoint as end users. It is not an avenue where SONY tells us what they have in store for us.

The email that was sent out was not only sent to the 50 who registered for the tees, but also to Johnston's list. Total everything up and there's easily 80 bros which I think is all inclusive.

Anyway, if you find my approach overwhelming, then I can say it's down to your cynical way of thinking.. if u find it all too good to be true, then I would say again to you things will only happen if you choose to pursue it instead of sitting behind a monitor and keyboard, otherwise it would all be just wishful thinking and hoping that someone does it for you. I had the opportunity to speak to SONY and did so when I could have easily have sat back and continue doing my own photography.

by the way, i don't see the SBG outing as a marketing event by SONY. Perhaps, some bros who were ACTUALLY THERE might wanna tell it as it is? There wasnt any pressure to purchase nor were there any sales pitch...

My intention after all this is simple. I have no ulterior motives and only wish to contribute to enhancing the experience of being a group of photographers using A-mount. I have already spelt it out in my previous reply to you.

As for respect for the admin and mod, well, given how you treated this whole affair and hanging me out to dry (yeah, brotherhood above exclusivity - i guess, brotherhood to you has qualifying criteria and i'm exclusive to that), I have lost all respect for you as a person and as a mod. If I had indeed overstepped the mark, then it was done unintentionally. The same however, cant be said for you as a mod on how u have treated your fellow forumer.

Oh, by way, forgot to ask this:

U know what happened to the SONY Lens Book thread?

er... chill la...

wat other bros also said, SONY maybe just wanna be exclusive to alpha mount users, and not just the 50. 50 is coz only 50 sign up ma. anything news sony wanna share or similar, is always alpha users first hand. and i am saying ALPHA only. KM + Sony bros alike are the exclusive ppl.

actually i should not use exclusive. should use to have the first hand news for all alpha mount users out here. our voices are important to sony and our unity is important too.

guess sony is trying hard to gain KM bro's trust in them and very committed to taking in our important views.

so Sony = Brand = Sony?

Sony haven't even spoken here, and we only hear Brand's move to setup a commitee from within Clubsnap from getting benefits, then now to speak up to Sony... evolutionary story.

Well, we don't know what is actually going on between Sony & Brand and Brand's sudden enthusiam in setting up a new commitee. He is free to do his recruitment outside of CS, but i don't think he can do that without coming to CS to get the member list. With Johnston's list as well.

Bro DCA, I don't quite understand what Brand have done to piss you so much? Did he harm any members in any way?

As you mentioned, other camera brand have their representative in CS also, how is this different to other brand forum? I am confused

Let me write a story to illustrate my point.

A door-to-door salesman goes to a person's house with a box of orange, he said the oranges is a kind gesture of his company to the family, the family welcomed the salesman in, and the salesman made himself comfortable.

In respect of the oranges they get, the salesman say that the oranges should be marked with the family signature. The parents then help with the making of the family signature by providing the signature, but these are only to show that the oranges belong to the family.

Then the salesman goes to kids at the back of the parents, tells the kids that, hey, my company opens a departmental store, there is plenty of things that they have, toys, sweets and everything, so he ask the kids to gather around, and ask them who wanna be the elder brother who will control the rest of the kids, and we will all move to a new home. He says he'll also give them a new family signature as now he will be the father of the family. Also, there will be a carnival at the departmental store, you kids are to bring the oranges with the signature and show to everybody that you are from the family and you are now with us.

Having overheard the salesman doing such things behind their backs, the parents are angry with the salesman, so they went to confront the salesman in front of the kids, but instead the salesman shows no remorse and insist that hey, i gave them the oranges, they should do my bidding... overall, i'm going to bring them to see my boss and well, we could tell my boss that hey the oranges are not big, and we want them bigger.

So from my story view... what should the parents do?

Just remember, this is Clubsnap, you do anything that uses the Clubsnap's reputation, please consult the person in charge, Clubsnap did not endorse any collaboration with Sony.

Or perhaps he could paint me a clearer picture? He said he is not working for Sony, yet in 1 line he mentioned he is working with Sony... So in a way, still working for Sony... Althou this does not directly influence is pay, but indirectly? Trying to score points?

Was mentioned here before by other bros... the last SBG event in IMHO has no marketing feel at all.

We have a welcome speech from SONY and then that's it, no marketing talk at all. SONY didn't even say anything about the new cam, which I would like them to. We are off to model shoot after that and got to try out some lens from SONY and other bros.

I'm not there, i don't know what is going on...

But if the email is now circulated to all the KM/S users... refer to point 1 for the taking of the Orange with family signature and parade around the carnival. This is in direct breech of the usage of the CS logo.

A member says this to other members in collaboration with another company, so who he now thinks he is? He own the copyright to the logo?

DCA,
That is right.. NO MARKETING TALK!!!!
Furthermore, I don't think we need parents to look after us.. WE ARE ADULT A-MOUNT USERS in Singapore..
CS is just a forum for us to gather!! All activities organized were from the members initiative and willingness to share..
PLEASE DO NOT BRING IN THE RUBBISH OF OUR BRO BRAND IS DOING THIS OR THAT JUST TO SCORE POINT..

I've met up with Bro BRAND.. he's a nice guy who is willing to organize events for A-mount users.. and with support from SONY.. (Just like any other Bros here)
That's all.. as what I've seen so far.. the only benefits from this is ourselves... the A-mount users.

Enough talk.. I think you should delete this thread as well.

I tell what, I'll remove CS logo from the t-shirt!!
You should be happy now.

Fine i rest my case... since you guys wanna do it this way, so be it.

I'm illustrating my story, you guys wanna go ahead.

And suddenly Brand becomes the admin, and the rest moderators... well done.
