the pyramid top really an eyesore... surely they can do something about it even if it is to accomodate full frame...

But like many... the VC is interesting... wonder if they will sell it separately... wonder if it might fit A100...

These are preliminary designs. Wait till we get the final product, it just might be totally droolworthy. In the meantime, I'm VERY happy with my A100 and V3. :)

I wonder how preliminary is the design... usually once they display the bodies, it's pretty final... only minor details will change as the mouldings have already been done...

I beg to differ! I like the pentaprism "pyramid" top. I hope they keep that design!

whatever it is...it time to save save save....

oooo..... i missed this post.

hee hee. should be a praise i think.:)

wht would be the likely pricing for these babes? :dunno:

am thinking of the higher end amateur model ;p

Any FF in the works?

TEMPT ME AGAIN, MINOLTA!!!! (Erm.... Sony)

Some Dyxum forumer went over 1050 miles to PMA just to see the demo thing and talk more with the Sony reps there. Here's the link:

Seem like there will not be any rebadge Tamron lenses like 17-35mm or 28-75mm. The new 18-250mm lens is Sony make, big and with internal focusing, hope it will be a better quality lens unlike the Tamron/Sigma make. And the displayed big with lens will likely be a 400mm f/2.8. most of the f/2 lens or middle end lens may not be back. May be more black G lens.

And the high end ssm lens price is unlikely to fall as the output is still slow, 1 lens/day accordingly

More discussion on identity of the lenses here

Seems like an interesting months ahead....

It is certainly interesting to see the top end Sony DSLR when eventually more details emerged.

I would probably go with whatever they release now as it is kind of close to end of journey for one of my 7D. It hits 120,000 click yesterday, so not sure when it will just refuse to work.

Anyway... I am excited, but my bank account aren't..

I'm looking at the mid-end one... but my camera is still fine... so there...

Wow ....... design reminds me of the Nikon F4 .............cool!!

If u read the wording regarding the flagship model... it seems it will not be a professional body but something near that... it seems as if SONY is launching a camera to rival the D200 and the 5D... these are cameras pros will use as backups but as their first camera...

huh? How did you get that?
The other camera body prototype will represent the flagship model of the ‘α’ range. Offering features that meet demanding requirements from even professional photographers, this highest-end camera body also incorporates a new image sensor, BIONZ processor as well as ‘Super SteadyShot inside.’ One of these two new cameras is scheduled for launch during this calendar year.

From thin air, as usual.
