uhmm whats OP? Orient Photos? I tot our "Insider" say not so fast?

Ok, here's what I found out: they call it A500

Woah... so I guess the Pro model is A1000 ?

;p
whatever be it alpha ,apple or ahboy..as long as it deliver ..i dun mind

Interesting news!! It does look ugly lah but only 1 dial. Will be waiting for Sony to announce the specs.

Obiang cam ........ but I like it already!! :D

just to enchance this thread again...was reading the the fine line....on the comment at engadget...although there a lot of speculation on the pro body having a ff... nothing beat the source coming especially from japan.

... with the exception of kodak...nikon and the rest of the competitors had go head to head with canon without any ff sensor of their own for years....and yet sony manage to get one out within two years...that was quite a feat..imo...

The pics are identical to the ones at PMA... no surprises here...

As for SONY producing a full frame sensor... what's so surprising? They are the major sensor manufacturer on the earth... I would expect them to be at the cutting edge as well given their financial muscle and R&D expertise...

It is surprising, given that it is only 2 YEARS since taking over KM. Surprising also if not for their technical expertise, then their aggressive marketing strategy. Not what Minolta marketing was known for, haha!

They were already manufacturing high end large sensors for Nikon... as well as other manufacturers... they are also market leaders in the video camera segment, especially the pro segment... so the technology is already there, all that was required was the political will from the HQ to harness that know-how... which what they did by buying over KM and getting new sensors out... so 2 years is really not that amazing... I would be amazed if any other camera brand do the same...

WAH! may 26 is the first workshop... thats not very far away!

we may even get to see it in Singapore PC show :bsmilie: :bsmilie: :bsmilie: (ok ok..dreaming)

I wonder if they are just mockups or the actual pre-production bodies...

Moulds will have been made for the cameras' body shells, it is VERY costly to make alterations to moulds a bit at a time. So I believe whatever changes or fine-tuning will be software, machenical or electronic related.

:D Ooohh... I can't wait...;p

Whether or not moulds have been made for the shells is debatable... the mock-ups are made of wood... that doesn't need a mould... read the thread in dpreview... if the mock-ups were made of the actual polycarbonate body that will be used at launch, it's likely we would have heard on it on dyxum or dpreview already... David Kilpatrick on dpreview would have given all KM users a heads up already by now...

There are more advertisement on Canon DSLR in the paper for the past few days..
Maybe.. it's an indication that a new competitor's DSLR is coming up soon ;)

Say whatever you want to say, it is still surprising to me, haha!
