Next SONY will come out with a DSLR with two CF slots and you can chose to have it configured as RAID-1. Then no need to worry about card failure anymore. :bsmilie:

Canon already have something similar on the 1Dmk2, 1 copy is written to CF while another is written to the SD slot simultaneously. No prize for guessing what other kind of slot $ony will use if there is ever going to be dual memory slots.

Sony's V3 had 2 slots too.

Quiet as hell... it's already mid May.. June coming...

...quiet as hell...!

Not a blurp about the new bodies... *haiz!*

:(

Well.... Bad new is that I have been told there is a delay on Sony new DSLR.

Because the Service center suppose to have some form of training manual when it is about to release. To date, the service center in Sydney hasn't got anything... YET. They are expecting June though. But don't hold me on this.

Hart

most imptly what is the price?

According to M S Color, Florence told me it CANNOT be above $3K. Heheheh!

I told her, the Pro model will BE above $3K! hahahaa...

My suspicion is around $2k+ for the advanced amateur model, and possibly around $4K for the Pro model... :D

They can't be CRAZY enough to price it similarly with Canon's EOS 1D bodies....

at least it not as bad as i thought....:bsmilie:

any idea what the crop factor for the new semi-pro cam?

Service center won't know the price anyway if they haven't receive any training manual. They say they are always last to find out.... hahaha... but they already know 2 bodies are coming.. (nothing new really).

This I'm not too sure - but I suspect 1.3 and the pro model will surely be Full Frame!

Yeepeeeee!!!!! ;p

it a good price at less than 3k if it a 1.3 cropped factor..but then it will then render the cz 16-80mm unusable...

nope. i shot 1233 shots at a wedding once, over 5 or 6 cards, then simply created folders labelled card 1, card 2... and downloaded each card. then started working on them one folder at a time. in a way that's also not so daunting to look at 160 pics vs 1233 all at once...

That's when u shoot each card in sequence right? CJ is saying shoot an event and each segment shoot some on one card, then shoot somemore on another card... at the end of the day, u remember which card contains what or not? And in what sequence? Super confusing especially if u are shooting a long event or going on a long trip lar...

Not really if you have set your file numbering correctly. Just copied all into the same folder and you have all the photos sorted out nicely.

Yupe that's true... but problem I see will be when all your cards are half full and then... u are shooting and u need to start swapping a lot...

..help..I've run out of saliva...

same here...the new body look damn solid....:)
hope it performance will be just as solid.
been saving up for the new body liao.....

hahahahaaa... better drink more water... :bsmilie:

After using the Alpha A100 for one month, I have NO DOUBTS the new ones (especially the Pro model with the pentaprism - love the pointy agular head!) will just be as good in performance, and feel solid!

Actually, I'm quite thankful now Minolta gave it all up to SONY!
:D
if still with km...i got a feeling the whole camera divison would have been go under liao:angry:
agreed....the future is bright/or orange or whatever is it

just to enchance this thread again...was reading the the fine line....on the comment at engadget...although there a lot of speculation on the pro body having a ff... nothing beat the source coming especially from japan.
According to Asahi Camera Magazine, one of Japan's leading photography magazines; the flag-ship Sony DSLR will have a "full-frame" 35mm sensor with over 16 megapixels
... with the exception of kodak...nikon and the rest of the competitors had go head to head with canon without any ff sensor of their own for years....and yet sony manage to get one out within two years...that was quite a feat..imo...
