okie.. i make some noise...lalalalala nananana:bsmilie:

was bidding for a 20D last night.....when i saw this thread re-surface.....i put a hold on the 20D purchase...the new body better be good....else..

Hey, don't be surprised one day it will eventually be with built-in proprietiry solid state memory chips...!

The Mamiya digital Medium Fornat SLR is already 20 megapixels.

then cannot be that light lor... you'll get the weighted cam you're wishing for, but chances are you can get about 50 shots before your wrists give up :bsmilie:

brother, 8gbs are the vogue nowadays, what is 4gb? backup cards?

then my 1gb and 2gb cards must be door stops :bsmilie:
but i've found that the lower capacity cards work faster, and i'm inclined to think they consume less power too. the biggest plus is you don't put all your eggs in one basket. so far haven't had issues to reload even during event shoots -- there's ALWAYS time to change your card, just got to be aware of your shots left, kinda like your rifle, no? :bsmilie:

i guess that depend on the user. for me, still using 4gb card. i dont need 8gb for my shoot. din shoot that much either.

it would be quite fun to lose 8GB of pics @ one shot due to a card failure!
a friend's 2GB lexar just failed on him

If I ever jump ship to other brands it's because of the GOD damn ugly design. Who designed it, shoot him :o

Some love it, some hate it. Maybe SONY should have interchangeable body cover for the new DSLR. :bsmilie:

i only got one cheapo 4gb...the rest cmi..maybe time to BBB:bsmilie:

What I do when I find that I am shooting a lot of photos, is that I would use multiple CF cards. Meaning that I'd shoot a certain specified numbers of frames than swap another CF card in, shoot a certain number of frames and swap another in and sequentially swap the
4Gb CF cards I have. This way, should a card fail, I won't lose everything.

It's a bit troublesome, but it sure beats feeling like a zombie after loosing all 4Gb or more pics when the card fails!

What a mess when u have a few hundred shots or few thousand shots to process??? :o

nope. i shot 1233 shots at a wedding once, over 5 or 6 cards, then simply created folders labelled card 1, card 2... and downloaded each card. then started working on them one folder at a time. in a way that's also not so daunting to look at 160 pics vs 1233 all at once...

Next SONY will come out with a DSLR with two CF slots and you can chose to have it configured as RAID-1. Then no need to worry about card failure anymore. :bsmilie:
