The a100 is available in Singapore from 21 July onwards at a recommended street price of S$1800 – S$2000 (without GST) at Sony Galleries and official distributors.

Just saw the A100 in a Sony Gallery shop in HK today. Prices according to brochure as follows :

1. Body + DT18-70 + 2GB Sony MS Pro Duo + bag HKD8,888
2. Body + DT18-70 + 75-300 + 2GB Sony MS Pro Duo HKD10,288

3. #1 + HVL36AM Flash + Crumpler Bag HKD10,788
4. #3 + DPP-FP55 Photo Printer HKD12,178

Exchange rate is about SGD1.00 = HKD4.75

According to the sales person, Body + Kit Lens will be HKD7,888 or abt SGD1,650. Available 24 Jul.

Forgot to mention that a Sony 35mm f1.4 lens (no other markings) was attached to the demo unit. It was heavy mainly due to the lens.

I'll rather save my money on the Panasoinc SLR.

anyway, for those who are interested with the camera (Sony A-100), it was available at Sony gallery in Funan Center as of 6pm yesterday. They have limited quantities when I saw it in store (it has not been displayed).

The price is $1799 for Body + kit lens

Though I will expect it can be bought at around $1650 at major camera shop in Singapore.

Just some info for those who are interested.

please... since you have two bodies, you can use same lens, same subject, same light and the results will be quite interesting.

should be able to get the body only for under $1500 in some of the other shops. save some money, don't buy direct from sony hehe.

doesn't matter anyway...we got our km version liao
whatever the rrp price sony's body quoted ...my guess it will be cheaper by another 100 (hopefully 200) less
