hi thanks for the comment... i am using my nikon d60 with reverse lens mount adapter, extension tubes(depending on amount of magnification needed) and my 50mm1.8d mounted reverse : )

wow! didn't realise a 50mm f/1.8d could achieve such fantastic results!

bravo! :)

yesir... mounted reverse it gives pretty good magnification.. if more magnification is needed i use extension tubes with the 50 mounted in reverse. i like it because it is light and has an aperture ring, so it is easy to set :D

I was looking at your photostream last night. Your pics are very vivid, and you're using a D60. My colours seem so washed out on my D90, and I have my white balance set to auto, scene set to neutral I think. Do you change your camera settings, or do you do post processing?

hi troy i set it to more vivid i think, as you know the d60 is a beginners cam so it doesn't have as much settings as the d90 (which i would very much like to own as soon as i can afford it) yes sir i do post processing... i usually use levels and the brightness-contrast function.. i will post some pics that are not post processed and the ones that are so you can see the difference... i do not like too much post processing since sometimes the pictures tend to look unrealistic. i usually use cs2 for enhancement.... i also do not use the sharpening tool because it adds to noise in the picture.... i also use cs2 for resizing my photos and putting my name... i do not use an external flash(have to buy one yet) i only use my pop up and put a diffuser :):)

I feel like squashing the third one, the eye very colourful one, shedding skin catepillar. look so squashy

I used to set my camera to vivid before (and increased sharpness), but I don't recall how the pics looked. For the past few months i've used neutral settings and changed the settings in PS when I open the RAW files.
I'm really not sure if there's any difference between the 2 methods, but one this is for sure, the colours look very bland when I take with the camera, and nothing like the subject IRL.

@rockstarwatercooler - yes it is a bit gross,,, hahaha thanks for the comment

@troyP - i will try to ask my friend who uses a d90 what his settings are... i heard from the d90 users here that you have to be the one who will set the camera so that it will perform to your liking... the only tip i got from my friends are to set the sharpness to +7 and not to use the long exposure nr... i will ask tomorrow and post what he tells me here. i hope i will be able to help you troy... thanks for commenting and asking :)

One of the BEST sets of macros I have seen so far.

The colors, I just LOVE the colors:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Boy, I can only dream to have such good shots. Please keep them coming.:)

thank you for your kind comments sir princej... i am still learning a lot from others who also like macro.....

@troyP - here is an example of a shot to show the difference between my post processing and my original capture.. i only enhance it a bit so it remains realistic.. :)

this is not that macro but i like this picture and it has to do with nature.... i had to use a ladder and hold my tripod(dont have a monopod) by the end with my slr attached to the other end, using my remote to control the shutter(my dad was using the remote on the ground)
