and btw... i do that too, not because i'm a noob, but because it provides a CHEAPER alternative for a macro lense.
yup, very much agree.
creativity and curiosity can creates good pics too. ;p

Hahaha. This thread made my day.

for the kit lens f8-f11 is the best and stick below iso 800 unless you want to clean up noise.

for flash mode, shoot in M mode.

Eh? Why for flash mode must shoot in M? I interested to know. Haha.

I believe its because you set the aperture and the shutter speed and the camera will set the flash power, all other modes result in fill in flash.

hahaha

I never had so much fun reading posts for a long time :bsmilie:

i'll bet with you this noob can take a picture better than most DSLR users with his set up anytime.

:dunno: i tot you can set the flash's output strength so that it doesn't work as 'fill-in'?

Either way, unless you override the flash's output setting, the flash will always work in 'fill-in' mode. It will automatically cut-off when there is enough light for the current aperture setting.

FEC's totally impossible with the 300D.... that is IF you want to apply the firmware hack (which I must say, works very well) that enables FEC to help u adjust the flash power. :)

Maybe a magnifying glass can do the trick. Gives you live preview at 98% area. Make sure you get a round LCD protector too! :bsmilie:

hmm just my 2 cents.. If i'm not wrong..
Olympus and Pentax DSLR has got live preview. They use a prism instead of mirror, allowing light to reflect up to the viewfinder AND the sensor. And it came out before 20Ds or 20Da..
LOL should have gotten those if u wanted live preview.

It's just Oly.. Their E-10 and E-20 used a prism to split the incoming image between the viewfinder and the sensor.. Both are fixed-lense cameras though..
